The New Orleans VooDoo (5-11) fell to the Arizona Rattlers (14-2) 79-42 in front of a crowd of 9958 inside the U.S Airways Center Arena Saturday night. The VooDoo got off to a rough start as the first play from scrimmage was intercepted by the Rattlers. Arizona got on the board first as FB Odie Armstong ran it into the end zone for two yards. Rattlers WR Rod Windsor extended their lead to 14 as he completed a 30-yard pass from QB Nick Davila. The VooDoo's WR Quorey Payne closed out the first quarter with a 15-yard touchdown pass from QB Chris Dixon to make it 14-7. Arizona dominated the second quarter with five touchdowns and a field goal for a total of 31 points. The VooDoo managed to counter Arizona's five touchdowns with three of their own as the second quarter ended with the Rattlers leading 45-28. Arizona QB Nick Davila opened up the second half with a 28-yard touchdown pass to WR Rod Windsor. VooDoo QB Chris Dixon fought his way into the end zone for a 4-yard rushing touchdown to make it 35- 52. WR Rob Windsor and QB Nick Davila opened and closed the third quarter for Arizona with a three- yard touchdown pass. Arizona WR Maurice Purify completed a total of 55 receiving yards in the fourth quarter to put the Rattlers up 72-35. The VooDoo managed to put seven more points on the board as Bill Stull came into replace Chris Dixon. Stull threw a 41-yrd touchdown pass to WR Quorey Payne. Arizona closed out the game with a 45-yard touchdown pass making the final score 79-42 in the Snake Pit. The New Orleans VooDoo return home to face the Jacksonville Sharks Saturday, July 20.
