As of yesterday, it is my understanding that the appeals portion of Arod's suspension has come to a screeching halt. That the internal process set forth by the contractual agreement between MLB and the players union has been exercised. The next step is for Arod to take it to the courts, where I believe he and his legal team will ultimately be stonewalled by the "Anti-trust exemption" Good luck with that Arod. In the beginning, when this story broke, MLB made statements that the evidence accumulated toward Arod was a lot. It seems as though, despite the theatrics of Arod's legal team, this has been upheld in the appeals hearing. Otherwise, winners or attorney's who feel they are winning don't walk out. So when Horowitz renders his final ruling, I expect that the suspension to be upheld. The third strike. But here is where I feel the golden sombrero gets added to his last at bat if you will. His attorney's who never fear a chance to promote themselves, plus the artist formerly known as Arod, will file whatever motions and suits necessary to make his famous last stands. Like many last stands before him, Arod will finally learn the meaning of "The Last Stand". Baseball, which enjoys the Anti-Trust exemption basically is bullet proof from this type of proceeding I feel. And Arod's attorney's may take this fight all the way to the supreme court, which would most likely take 2 more years to work its way through the appeals process, so the final strike will be age, the fight Arod can't win against time. "The Golden Sombrero" I'm not an attorney but I can't see this going any other way can any of you. I have included links about the anti trust exemption below. what's your feedback? http://www.taxaball.com/1/post/2013...-federal-judges-give-mlb-sports-law-wins.html http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/print?id=1290707&
...I've said all along that I hope the lawyers suck him dry. I mean why wouldn't lawyers want ARod to file even more fruitless suits...the lawyers get paid no matter what. ...he can sue, MLB, the Yanx, even the MLBPA but as far as his appeal for his suspension, whatever the arbiter says pretty much goes. Courts and judges are not keen on the idea of hearing, much less overturning a ruling made by an arbitrator who was hired and agreed upon by BOTH sides. ...the latest is that ARod's legal team will produce compelling evidence but won't release it till next week even though they have rested their case in the arbitration hearing. If this "evidence" is so crucial to his defense why didn't they present it during the hearing?
His legal team reminds me a lot of Wimpy. They keep saying that they are going to do this and that and then they do nothing and say it's coming like "I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a Hamburger today...
...lol...yup, I also got a laugh out of ARod's assessment of his legal team's performance..."They crushed it!"...seriously ARod?...seriously?
