<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It was the flow that Pistons guard Carlos Arroyo could only dream about.

He was in the game, connected to the action, feeling the emotion from his own body and the whipped-up Palace crowd.

The groove was on Tuesday's Game 5 against the Pacers, and Arroyo was part of the rhythm.

He played his best game of the playoffs, contributing six assists and two points in a career-playoff high-tying 18 minutes. He made his mark in the second quarter, played 11 minutes with four assists.

"I thought the impact he had on the game was tremendous," Pistons coach Larry Brown said. "He got us running and got us easy shots. He gave us a chance to rest people. Two games in a row he's made contributions."

Actually, the Pistons are 3-0 in this semifinal series when Arroyo plays.

    Coincidence?

"I don't know," Arroyo said, laughing. "Lucky charm, I guess."

Arroyo's energy was contagious. He was fired up, jumping around and exchanging chest thumps with teammates during time-outs.

Brown showed confidence in Arroyo during the second quarter. Arroyo threw a poor pass for a turnover. He was visibly mad, taking himself to task for trying for too much on the pass.

Brown called for a substitution, putting in Lindsey Hunter for Arroyo. Hunter gave Arroyo a supportive pat on the back on his way in, trying to bolster his spirits.

Brown was also supportive, telling Arroyo to stay strong on his way to the bench. A minute later, he reinforced his faith in Arroyo by putting him back in the game.

Arroyo responded with three assists in the next three minutes, helping trigger the Pistons' big run.

He set up Antonio McDyess and Ben Wallace for two wide-open, rim-rocking dunks, plus dished to Chauncey Billups for a three.

He also took an offensive foul from Jamaal Tinsley during that span, amping up the crowd even more. </div>
