Arsenal have agreed to switch from Nike to Puma for a staggering £150-million over five seasons. Arsenal wore Nike for two decades. Arsenal CEO Ivan Gazidis says that Puma's ability to market Arsenal globally while maintaining a close relationship with the club (and not having many other teams wearing their gear) was key. The deal pays Arsenal more than any other club except for Real Madrid (Adidas, £31-million per annum) and is the biggest in English football history. The deal comes on the back of Arsenal moving out of debt from the stadium build and helps secure their place as one of the richest and most self-sufficient clubs in Europe.
