Looking at the draw we could have gotten a lot easier teams; but we copped one of the hardest of the lot. Although I'm sure Celtic are feeling the same way.
Let's be honest here--Arsenal should thump Celtic. Anything less will be devastating. Certainly not the kind of morale hit we'd want heading into a new season.
No need to worry. Arsenal cruise to a 0-2 victory on lucky goals--one deflection off of Gallas' back and one own goal. Despite not scoring an honest one the Gunners dominated play, especially in the second half, and cut out nearly everything offensive Celtic tried to produce. Next week's second leg won't be an automatic pass to the next round for Arsenal but they'd have to lose by three.
I had two bets going on (betus.com) one Chelsea, Arsenal, Stuttgart, Wigan bet 5 to win 43.80, the other Arsenal, Copenhagen, Olympiakos, Stuttgart, Lisbon bet 5 to win 115.49, Wigan and Lisbon screwed it up.
hahah I have a big one today, Man Utd, Tottenham, Liverpool, Sofia, Loynais, Atl. Madrid, Salzburg, Zurich 5 for 312.29 it'll be tough to get it though. 2 years ago my brother won 500+ euros with 9 teams. (they were mixed, england 2nd league, german 2nd league, scotland, ireland, etc lol)
A miserable foul call leads to an Eduardo penalty kick and the end of Celtic's (feint) hopes of reaching the Champion's League. Emmanuel Eboue and Andre Asharvin add goals to emphasize the win. Eboue revealed something written on his undershirt but they didn't show it on camera--anyone get a glimpse? Was it another "Jesus is Lord" type of slogan?
I believe it was something along those lines. I'm happing for Arshavin. That's what he can do when he is in his favorite position.
