That's a retarded idea, because Artest is the beter offensive player, of course he would win..

If we matched T-mac with Bowen, who do u think would win? Does that make T-mac the better defender??

I like Ron style. Only a NY guy would say something like that. [IMG] But those are some BIG words from Ron Artest. I really hope they meet in the finals for that purpose alone. I think Artest would end up getting the last laught if they played one one one. Since Bowen would guard Artest, Artest would score at least 10 Points thats for sure. But Bowen isn't a good offensive player on top of that he would have Artest sufficating defensve all over him. I wouldnt be surprised if Artest held him down to less than 10 Points. If you think about it wouldnt be really fare. Its not really a even matchup. I would just like to see it for the hell of it.

Exactly,I dont understand the point Ron Artest was trying to make. Everyone knows he the better all- round player. That was never in question.

Ron doesn't seem to be the smartest fish in the water. It would be best for both Bowen and Artest to guard either Kobe or T-mac for 10 plays and see who shoots a worse % against each defender, that would be the better idea.

Thats not a bad idea. But what happens if one of them is having one of those nights. You know, when they start hitting jumpers left and right and end up with 50 Points or something. On top of that just because you can guard a player like McGrady or Kobe its just one player, they would have to prove themselves against everyone their assigned to defend. Yeah maybe they can hold a player like McGrady and Kobe down. But what would they be able to do against players like Iverson, Marbury and all of those quick little guards. And then they're the strong physical type of G/F like Finley and Pierce. Anyways Ron Artest won the Defensive Player of the Year thats all that matters. Bowen and Pop got to live with the fact, that Ron was the better defender this year. Try next year Bruce. [IMG]

Ron's trying to be smart. Of course everybody knows that he'd win.

It'd certainly be entertaining to see a dirty player and trashtalker like Bowen get burned though.

What are you on about? Bowen is not a dirty player, just very psyical...people still get the wrong impression about his defense but that still doesn't still people from labelling him dirty..but If people want to call him dirt I guess It's understandable considering what certain players have said about him

But trashtalker? who exactly told you he was a guy that talked trash? He plays for San Antonio...those guys don't talk trash, they make their statements on the court the way It should be done. Bruce is one of the most classy guys in the league, anytime a player critises him he never, ever comes back with comments about the guy who said it

    It's against his nature.

Bad example--T-Mac could very well be a better defender than Bowen.

There's a better chance of Glenn Robinson winning the defensive player of the year award than T-mac ever being close to Bowen on the defensive end.

T-Mac CAN be better than Bowen IF he wanted to. I see him and Lebron James being dominating defenders if their hearts are actually into it. But the big word is "IF". 90% of being a defender is having the mentality of shutting down your opponent and working hard at doing it. T-Mac has shown that he just doesn't really care.

I totally agree. I had to re-read your statement over and over again to make sure that you really said that. There's no chance that TMac will be a better defender than Bowen even if he tried to.

The fact that T-Mac puts no effort whatsoever into defense means he suddenly doesn't have defensive skills? I've seen this guy play D when he needs to make that single lockdown. He can do it. And if it came down to one defensive stop to make or break a title I'd take Tracy McGrady first and foremost as my swingman, above Doug Christie, above Ron Artest, above Kobe Bryant (just cuz someone's gonna put him in that group for whatever reason), and yes, above Bruce Bowen. What sets him apart is that he's as quick as any defensive specialist but taller and longer than all of them.

Can I assume the only time you saw anything having to do with the Raptors was when Vince Carter had a highlight dunk?
