I wonder what Ron Artest's trade value will be? (Note: I'm not advocating trading for him) Now that the Pacers are shutting teams down without him, and Reggie Miller is retiring, he probably will be moved for a small forward with some outside shooting ability. It seems like Peja is a salary match, but I think that would be too much value for a loose cannon. I'd be curious to hear what people think about this.

I think Artest has some range already. (Though not Reggie Miller range) I'd love to have him in GS, he does everything i hate Dunleavy for not doing. He's probably in the top two or three two-way plaers in the league.

I'm not taking Artest. He has to much emotional baggage. He's a good player, but I wouldn't risk his contract and how nuts he is. I'd rather have Dunleavy.

I dont want Artest unless it is for peanuts like how we got Baron Davis. Too much of a distraction...

I'm not sure the Pacers are looking to dump Artest, though some writers or fans will assume so. At a fire-sale price,Artest would be a plus. His baggage is that he's so intense and competitive,he has gone too far. He isn't a crack-freak,slacker,or even an uncoachable jerk. From our angle,Artest's positions are areas where we could use more D,but the 2/3 slots are where we can find some draft-FA bargains too. Some offers you can't refuse, but generally the W's are not apt to make a major deal for an NBA vet unless it helps us at Center.

I'd love to have Artest. If we're talking Dunleavy for Artest, I'd say do the deal.

The defense would be something awesome when we have Pietrus guarding the 2, Artest guarding the 3.

If he ever becomes disruptive his contract is pretty solid so we can dump him basically.

I'd give Dunleavy and both of our second round picks for Artest.

Ron Artest need's to learn some dicipline he's becoming to be a Sprewell type of guy and that is going to affect him for the future.

I think Artest is misunderstood. The guy gets frustrated easily because he wants to win badly. He takes it personally if he gets beat on defense or scored on and he's pretty much no different than Bruce Bowen in his tactics he uses on perimeter guys. I wouldn't trade any other player for him unless it was somebody we were letting walk anyway. So if it costs nothing to obtain him, why not? Now if we were a losing team like Sprewell was on, then I can see things getting out of control. But c'mon this guy is an all-star for a reason. If the Pistons didn't take a chance on Rasheed Wallace they never would have won that championship. If the New York Knicks didn't get Spree they wouldn't have gotten as far as they did in the playoffs even if they already had a healthy Alan Houston.

Of course I still think Spree is a loser, but then again the media blows up his comments for fun and entertainment.

I felt that when Spree was here he tanked games just to screw coaches he didn't like,That he would take lousy shots, wanting to boost his stats while doing little to actually get wins. His D went from very good to so pisspoor I wanted them to put in Jon Barry as a defensive move. Spree wanted to copy Webber's ego-and took it 200% furthur. I would not swap D Fish for him. I would not swap Rodney White for him. I would not give the W's round 2 pick in 2020 for him.
When Seikaly was here, every pass he got from Sprewell was at his knees or lower, because Spewell was buddies with Owens and he wanted the team to dump Mullin, not Owens.

Once againl, I wasn't advocating getting him. I was just curious what people think his value is.
