Warriors' 'great time out' can thank Rowell's work By Marcus Thompson II, CONTRA COSTA TIMES OAKLAND - Robert Rowell knew it had to be done. The toilets needed to be cleaned at Mustang Stadium, but Cal Poly San Luis Obispo's building services workers weren't reliable. So Rowell, then the associate athletic director, did it himself. Every Saturday home game, for the entire football season, he would gather a few assistants and get to scrubbing. "As disgusting as it sounds, you've got to do what you have to do to get it done," said Rowell, who worked in Cal Poly's athletic department from 1989 to 1994 and implemented the financial plan to upgrade the Mustangs from Division II to I-AA. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=knig...night&type=lgns
I can't imagine a suit like Rowell scrubbing toilets. If he did he's the man. But remember when he criticized the team? That sure struck a bad chord with the players and some fans. I would have had an all you can eat Indian food buffet and made him my personnel bathroom attendent if I were a player.
I like a guy who is willing to do the other jobs that he is responsible for. I think it shows a great deal about him. I do not recall the criticism but public criticism of the team is not right but the team needed the criticism and there is nothing wrong with hoping for improvement.
