When game time came, though, Davis was dressed and ready for 15-20 minutes of action. Voodoo magic? Maybe. The change of heart came, Davis said, during a meeting with coach Byron Scott just before the game. "Me and coach cleared the air," Davis said. Well, sort of. What was really cleared was Davis' path back to his home state of California. Davis changed his mind about playing, essentially because Scott told him that a deal was pending if Davis was reasonably healthy. Davis played, and then was traded to Golden State today for Dale Davis and Speedy Claxton. </div> http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/3418794
I can't wait to see him play today. Hopefully he can be our Nash, the guy with a touch to his shots and the passer that sets Murphy up every time
While I love this Baron Davis trade, there seems to be negative outlook from many so-called "basketball experts" out there about the trade. From what i've read from various sports sites, the Warriors aren't as big of a winner as many think. I see this trade giving the Warriors something they finally need, an All- star PG who can get the ball to every player at whatever spot they feel comfortable at or score whenever he feels like. No diss to Speedy, but I'd take Baron Davis over Speedy anyday.
^Speedy was great for how we signed him. He played so hard and had to battle for PG against NVE untile Van Exel said Uncle
I think Speedy knows he was appreciated. He was one of the few guys that played any defense or could penentrate and dish with unselfishness. Without him our offense would be pretty much limited to 3 point shots. Baron Davis has better qualifications for a long term point guard obviously. He's locked up for quite a bit, he's one of the league's best playmakers, plays both sides of the court extremely well, has post game, 3-point range, is incredibly fast and explosive, has good size at 6'3", 223 lbs. I guess there's no more pipe dreaming about Kirk Hinrich then. But Dmoney is right, we need a center in the worst way and we need to know who fits in at small forward. Otherwise we're going to be overrated now that we got a franchise player and a near-franchise player all on the same squad.

Warriors go big in a draft with no big men. Typical Warriors. but hey they got BD, no complaints from me. Maybe Skitsa or Dunleavy can turn into Dirk for the next 30 games... HAHA that's pretty funny.

I think Artest has more of a bad rap for being a psycho than he really is... But I never knew Bruce Bowen was as tempermental and psycho as Ron Artest can be.

I mean c'mon Bowen was runner up to defensive player of the year. Skita is a pretty poor defender. Watch and see what I mean. It's all good when he's scoring, but when he's not, ouch... Oh well nothing new in Warrior land.
