Patriots | Samuel requests a tradeWed, 4 Apr 2007 17:10:48 -0700Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports New England Patriots CB Asante Samuel has requested a trade because he is unhappy with the way contract negotiations have gone."This is to let everybody know that I'm not happy anymore and things are not going well," Samuel told the NFL Network's Adam Schefter. "We have a difference of opinion in my value. If a long-term deal can't be done at fair numbers for me and New England, then I want to be traded.
He deserves a new contract for his great play. Franchise tagging him is BS. Pats should stop being so stingy and should start giving big contracts to their important players. Branch should be a patriot right now.
Franchise and transition tag will come to an end in the NFL soon if stuff like this keeps up. I would love for the vikings to get him but I doubt they end up trading him or anyone pursuing him too much. Probably too big of an asking price and contract.
That took a while for him to get out, why all of a sudden...that'd be sick if the skins picked him up
Samuel would have gotten more money then Clements in this market (Why wouldn't he, considering he's a better Cornerback). I can't blame Samuel for being pissed at the Patriots from keeping him from his mega-payday in this market. I'd love to have him on the Jets, but it's not very likely as the Pats would never trade him in-division, especially to the Jets.

If a team tags a Kicker (Seahawks) then that player gets less than his value even for that one year.... plus NO ONE is going to pay two firsts for a Kicker. No matter how clutch he is.Charging two first round picks for a franchise QB or LT, fine. Charging two first round picks for just about any other position, not worth it. So it traps those CB's, DE's, and even those K's.
That's the solution. Anytime you're pissed over your contract, just head over to Washington. Synder will give you your dough
