Well with the Sonics Losing and not likely to turn it around anytime soon(injury to shard), I was thinking at what point do I start looking forward to another loss? I mean when do you start hoping for a terrible record and a high draft pick? Getting a medocre record is death- it gives you a cruddy pick and we have few player that can improve enough to get us contending again and with a possible city move on the horizon it is unlikely that management will buy talent. That only leaves the draft :S So should I start thinking "one closer to the top 3 pick or should I say dam we lost again. Torn! What would you guys do?
Seeing how you aren't managing the Sonics so you have no way possible to actually tell the team to lose on purpose, I suppose a real coach or, well, the entire team staff ought to give up when their record is below .500% by a large margin (maybe 10 or so games down) and you're low in your division, then I guess it's time to give in and hope for a high pick.

Really? I thought it was right before the season ends and your record is 10-72.

Im just saying at what point do I as a fan start thinking of the lottery. I have held on to hope in past years until there is no mathematical chance of getting to the playoffs.
You always want a good lottery pick, wheather you want a trade. you always want that, but as a fan you never want your team to tank.Illosphee: Really? If your fans are like that you lose all respect.
As a coach or player I would never want to lose, no matter how horrible my team is or how late in the season it is because that is just not my nature. I am an extremely competitive person. I know it is a lot easier for me to sit here and say that this is what I would do or how I would act, and that it would be extremely tough to go through a losing season, etc., but I really cannot see myself ever getting to a point where I would completely give up and "expect" and/or "want" to lose games in order to get a high pick. Now, as a fan it is a completely different story. I've been wanting/expecting the 76ers to lose ever since they sent Allen Iverson home, and especially when they traded him. Obviously I really do not have much of a choice considering the 76ers are basically going out there and losing, and I honestly don't think the organization really gives a crap about wins and losses at this point in time. The quicker we get into the lottery, and the higher the pick we get, the higher the chances that we rebuild quickly. I'm basically praying for Greg Oden or Kevin Durant at this point in time.EDIT: Don't get it twisted... I'm not saying I want the Sixers to lose every game from now until the end of the season, because quite frankly I don't. I'll be rooting for them to win every single night they play, but honestly I go into every game basically expecting them to lose.

I lacked the eloquence to elaborate on my thoughts enough- thats exactly what I am thinking! thanks
I can't accept losing.I won't accept losing.I won't ever accept losing. Ever.Nobody will ever be able to call me a loser to my faceand stand there. You know? Never. Never.

I wish the twolves would just trade KG already and begin to lose. there is no way this team can turn it around now. if mccants can come back and become an unstoppable scorer and foye continues to develop then maybe we can come back into the playoff picture but for now I just wish they would lose
I love this. The Sonics usually try to do well and tank and pick a crappy big man. And now that there's like a handful of probably good big men, they're hanging in limbo and don't want to lose. Just tank and get a new GM.
