    Successful Scenario
Due to Utah being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Utah had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.</div>

Then add the Zach Randolph to Chicago and S & T Nocioni for about 8 million to Portland.

I'm not a fan of Randolph because he doesn't work hard on the defensive end. Skiles doesn't want players like that and his issues at times are a sign that the Bulls may not consider picking him up unless they can basically steal him from Portland. Best example is the J.R. Smith Scenario. On an up side I like his inside scoring and I think he would perform even better in the East offensively. If we were to give up Nocioni and Duhon I'd want Dee Brown from the Jazz to replace Duhon in that deal.

Also consider that Nocioni won't be able to be traded as long as he is recovering (two to three months time) because the league doesn't allow trading injured players. This trade would likely never happen or it would have to wait until after the draft, which would force the Bulls' ninth pick to be off that trade block. Then as for Atlanta, I don't see how this really benefits them losing Childress and the third pick for two lower picks and bench warmers.

I'm pretty sure players can be traded during the offseason despite injuries, I think they might even be able to trade them during the year with injuries too I think. Bulls are getting Zach Randolph, and I doubt Utah will trade 2 of their rookies, but trading 1 would be fine because they need that SG that will play now. I know about Atlanta, I forgot to mention 1 future 1st from Utah.

No player can be traded while injured. Almost every North American based sports league has that rule including the NHL, MLB, MLS and others.

Anyway, Atlanta receiving a future first rounder doesn't suit well for them considering that they've been down for so long and this season has been a bit of a change in the right direction. The Hawks just need to continue with what they have and add more without losing one of their key components. I'd prefer Gordon in that deal alone for Randolph actually.
