I just joined this board and wanted to know why nobody was talking about the early game today vs. the Hawks. In my opinion, we played terribly. The only bright spot was Juan Dixon who kept us alive in the 4th quarter with 15 points. Gilly was playing sick and was definatly not himself. Larry who I have been most impressed with lately shot about 7-24 but did keep driving to the hoop which at least led to some easy putbacks by Brendan. Jamison, who I am not that high on continues taking deep jumpers about a foot inside the 3-point arch, which is if you play basketball you know is the worst shot in the game. I don't really think he can consistenyly hit the 3 so I wish he would keep attacking the rim with his scoop shots or maybe shoot his J from like 18 ft. Jarvis played terrible and really can't shoot at all. THe defense was atrocious. There is no way the Hawks should score so much, especiially Drobnjak and Delk. Mike Ruffin continues to be the man inside. I love this mans hustle on the glass and he continues to tip balls to keep posessions alive. I hope his PT doesn't come downt too much when Etan and Kwame come back. Anyway, bottom line is at least we got the win which we desperatly needed. I am still depressed over the last 2 losses because I think we are so close to becoming a great team. BTW, Josh Smith really impresses me. If this kid can learn and work on his offensive game, the sky is the limit.
Great to have you, we always need more Wizard fans. I did not have time to make a preview for them game, but for most games I will have a preview up. Ehh, we played decent in this one. We really let them hang in there too long, we are much better than this team and we should of blown them out.
I was so nervous during the entire game. Definatly not necessary when playing a team with only five wins on the season. I also think we benefitted from a lot of close calls that we usually don't get.
I laughed when Eddie said: "We needed Gilbert to sit out the game against Boston so that he'd be healthy for Atlanta." The funny thing turned out to be, we needed him. But this game needs to be the start of a bigger streak. We've got a 5 game homestand now, against some pretty good teams. I think aiming for 3 of 5 is realistic, and would really prove us to be a strong team. That means the win against ATL, a win against NJN, and a win against one of the three Western visitors: PHO, SEA, or POR. It's possible, and would be a huge step.
