Fair weather fans or not the interest in this team from the general public is rapidly decreasing. You all know a few, I know I do. I know one who literally couldn't give his tickets away to any of his employees. It'll take some bold moves from the front office before it gets worse. Paging Mr. Cho, paging Mr. Cho!
This city is notoriously fair weather. Actually, Roy's complaining couldn't have come at a better time because the front runners will claim that they don't want to follow a malcontent.
Bah I skipped the game more because of it being the Timberwolves than what the Blazers were doing. My choices were: Drink with my friends who I had not seen in a really long time and who offered me the opportunity, or see the Blazers play a really shitty Minnesota team. I went drinking. I call it freedom. Not being a fair weather fan.
Love how if you dont go to a game you are fair weather... Maybe its the Declining economy or just maybe the Blazers are not putting a consistent team on the floor so the few dollars we do have is better spent elsewhere. Question is how many people are watching it at home? Bet you that number is pretty big. I love the Blazers been to 4 games so far this year but with how expensive it is to take my family of 5 is absurd and I could understand why alot of people would pass.
The Toronto and Detroit games did not look like sellouts either. Having to sell three games in four days with no superstar during the holiday season is a pretty tough task. I think those pics were taken early in the game though. There were empyt seats, but not quite that many.
Can't say I'm surprised by this. Also wouldn't be surprised if the "sellout" streak ends this year...now that would speak volumes to Cho and co (no rhyme pun intended)
Every team "donates" tix to make a sellout when feasible. I'm curious to know when those pics where taken. The arena always looks like that at the start of the 1st quarter because so many people come late. I wish I would have gone to last nights game!
There weren't that many open sections as the game progressed. It wasn't full, but there weren't gaping holes like that all game long.
Exactly - those pictures are misleading - it always fills in. And again, we were playing the worst team in the league.
i was gonna say.... when these pics were taken tells the story. 1st qtr... boston looked the same when i was there 4th qtr... thats not a good sign
I can see myself in one of the pictures, and can see an empty row in front of me where I know there were a decent amount of fans. Arena was not that empty all of last night.
I need a time stamp. I didn't see big spaces like that in the red seats. The Lexus black seats really don't matter, since they are sold out this year. Also, wouldn't it be "quickly dwindling", although I'm not sure that dwindling can be quickened.
serves this f-ing organization right. BS Comcast garbage, you cant even see this team play unless you was to watch on a garbage feed that gets cut off anyway. That coupled with mediocrity did it in. But I dont remember there being a problem in the mid 90's with sellouts during mediocrity. But I cant say I feel bad for Paul Allen at all. This organization has been doing an awful lot of saying "F you fans, you'll still show up anyway"
At what point of the 3rd quarter? Lines can be bench if your trying to get food during halftime. Also, a lot of fans go to Schonely's Place and slurp down a couple then stumble back to their seat mid-way throught the 3rd.
You don't remember the Blazervision or Blazer Cable days do you? PA has always monopolized Blazer telecasts. Its not that hard anymore to get a good link to a Blazer game with HQ cast.
"That coupled with mediocrity". Let's be perfectly honest. That's the only damn reason. look how many people on here have started saying how they weren't renewing their season tickets, and know others aren't either. Because of some injuries to key guys. That's not people getting arrested. That's not comcast. That's not KP being fired. Ownership. Nothing. It's simply fair weathered fans who, while bitching right now, if we pulled off some crazy Roy for Durant trade would come right back. And comcast wouldn't be a problem. Neither would KP, etc. It'd be wins and people coming back. Just call a spade a spade.
