As of late is has become apparently evident that a large number of posters who frequent this forum have not been adhering to the JustBBall Guidelines, in particular our policy on "baiting". "Baiting" is defined as posting information for the sole purpose of inticing a reaction out of a fanbase. For example, it would be baiting for a Dallas Mavericks fan to go into the Houston Rockets forum and start a thread entitled "The Houston Rockets Suck". Not only does it intice an immediate reaction out of Rockets fans, but it does not adhere to our policy of "mature and intelligent" basketball discussion. In this forum for example, a large number of non-Laker fans are coming into here for the reason of talking negative things about Kobe, or how the Lakers suck. There is a fine line between contructive criticism and baiting. If you were to discuss Kobe Bryants strengths and weakness's as a player then that would fall under the category of "constructive criticism". However, when someone starts a thread saying how much better Dwayne Wade is than Kobe, and talks about how Dwayne Wade is better than Kobe at everything, then you cross the line. Player comparisons are absolutely worthless topics because numbers do not tell the whole story, neither do W-L records. There is so much more to basketball than statistics you get out of the paper. So, lets keep this discussion in this forum to the Lakers, and not other players. Talking negatively all the time about something isn't healhy for this forum. Sure at times life gets rough however you can always find something positive in any given situation. Constuctive criticism is more than allowed, it is welcomed. That being said there is a fine line on what is "constructive criticism" and what is "baiting". Almost everyone on this site is old enough to understand the difference and if for some reason you don't understand you are more than welcome to PM me or a moderator. If you are a Lakers regular and you notice someone makes a "baiting" post or topic - please use the Report Post feature and a moderator will handle the situation. Baiting is against the JBB Guidelines and will not be tolerated. This is everyone's warning.
