The Colorado Avalanche and captain Gabriel Landeskog have agreed on a seven-year contract extension that will keep the young star in Denver through the 2020-21 season. Landeskog was the second overall selection in the 2011 NHL draft and he won the 2011-12 Calder Memorial Trophy as the league's top rookie.
