    How so?

    In their minds maybe.

Reality: They are as much of a rival as the Cavs are to Portland.

In other words, no they aren't.

Wake me when the Wolves are a relevant franchise.

It was based off a league wide SBNation.com poll. Each franchise' local site picked a rival. BEdge picked the SuperSonics... Fucking hipsters can't even pick a team that's still around!

One of the rumors in Seattle is that the T-Wolves are a team that could become the Sonics. Now THAT would make them rivals.

Considering we have absolutely destroyed them over the last few years, I don't think they even remotely resemble a "rival".

I think most of us really think of the Blazers as being a Pacific Division team anyways.

    wait, thats a reason?

it's when they start taking away the former amateur players, thats when things get serious!
    Terrell Brandon?

    wait...who are they talking about?

    They hired Chuck Culpepper?!

    by how?
I think that would be a reason why they hate Portland? I guess the poster combined the reasons?

Yeah, Blazer fans are sooo mad that the Wolves got jobbed by taking on Webster. grr...we hate you!
hm, again..seems to be combining reasons from them and "from us".

wait, they tried to sign Nicolas?

I hate to say it, but is this what it feels like when Laker fans hear us talking about how our two teams are rivals?

No, because the Laker fans (who matter) can actually name more than 3 current Trail Blazers. They remember game 7, as much as they remember the 92 playoffs, and the 91 playoffs, and the games against the Clyde Drexler lead teams.

They actually hate playing against the Blazers, because they know the team brings it (at least, in Portland) and the fans bring it. They REALLY hate losing to Portland (although know in the playoffs, there isn't much of a worry).

Portland fans? Lose to Minnesota? Meh..

They've played in the playoffs once. 12 years ago. Big whooop

Naw, bro. Nothing tops a regular season game where the Garden is rockin "Beat LA Beat LA"

Seconed, LA players are very aware of recent win/ loss records in PDX

I cant even imagine Tpups fans chanting to beat portland through out a game..lol

I wonder, when my cats go hunting, does the mouse think it's a rivalry?

There's bad blood, that's for sure.

Remember when the JR Rider Blazers played the Garnett Timberwolves in the first round and EVERYONE picked the Wolves to win? How did that turn out again?

I concur. Especially when I remember that Brandon Roy went to UW. A Seattle guy that used to play in Portland but is playing in Seattle now would piss me right off.

Please, do tell us when the JR Rider Blazers played the Timberwolves in the first round and EVERYONE picked the Wolves to win. And tell us how it turned out.

    Because it didn't happen.

The year AFTER he was traded to Atlanta, the Blazers played the Wolves. And I'm not sure that the 59 win Blazers were the underdogs to the Yippin' Puppies.
