The Magic have a mix of great defense with a potent offense. Take a look at the starters and reserves.
G-Francis:averages almost 2 spg, along with mobley gave houston best FG defense last year, quick with hands, block other guards
G-Mobley:underrated defender, did a pretty good job on kobe in the playoffs, good perimeter defender
F-Howard:this kid has been blocking shots all over the place in SL, should become a presence in the paint
F-Hill:help me out on this one
C-Cato:another underrated defender who can deal with Shaq, and do the dirty work, put-backs, picks

Bogans, Turkulou, Battie, some of the bench players who are lock down D players, also can score and run.

Along with this defense that looks very good and has not been talked about is our offense.
Someone from ESPN.com said that the coach is going to let Francis go on the court, similar to when AI was a rookie. He played very well, and when Francis gets to go back to his old system along with people to run with him, he is going to surprise a lot of people. We have a lot of scorers on this team, Francis, Mobley, Hill, Hedo, Bogans, Garrity, Nelson, Howard. I doubt scoring will be a problem, especially with a fast break offense. The Nuggets and Nets used this system their first year and were very successful. The Magic will follow a similar path. Agree? Disagree? Opinion?

I agree because they have been talking about that being the type of offense they were gona run since they got francis. So it comes as no surprise to anyone. Of course there gona run a fast break game do to the athletism on the team and speed they have.

I think they will be successful because francis is a fast guy with great steal ability, but he is not a pure point so we will have to see. Kidd and Miller who ran the offense for the nuggets and nets there first year and were successful are both pure point guards with pretty good assists to turnover ratios while francis is not so good in that catigory.

For the team to be good imo at running a fast break style of offense they should hand the point job over to jameer and move francis to the 2 spot. Then they would be able to run with less turnovers on offense and more affectivness.

I agree. We are a balanced team that has every thing when it comes to offense and defense IMO. The only thing we need is chemistry. This has been talked about earlier as PS mentioned and I believe it'll work out greatly for us. We have the youth and athelitisim to run the floor on a fast paced offense. This will help the Franchise out seeing that it will attract more fans, and with more fans we get more money, and with more money we could get another arena.

oooh, i dno about starting jameer and putting francis at 2... well, in a fastbreak system it works very well, but its waste to see mobley on the bench. he is a much better shooter than francis, and IMO can handle the no.2 alot better than francis, but yes i'll agree in a fastbreak style offense, jameer n francis wud be gr8.. jameer looks to be one of the best guards by 2006/7

i agree shadow.. T-Mac is good, but Mobley n Francis? that was a loss. iexpected francis to go bcoz he wasnt a fan of Van Gundy, but i was surprised to see Mobley go. he is so underrated, and is capable of making an all-star team one day..
