    They were bought specifically for the Champions league, not the League and you can say they both delivered in this regard.

    Don't say they're bad signings because already Ballack has chipped in with some crucial goals ( the winner at the Reebok for example) and he's been playing in a pretty unbalanced midfield as well.

    Shevchenko put on a Man of the match performance against Porto in the away leg and is improving game by game. With over 45 goals in CL history already including around 18 goals specifically in the knock-out rounds, you cannot ignore a player like this.

    Chelsea are the best team in Europe and will expect to win the CL this year. Last night's results will help carry out this aim more easily. Only history or bad luck will stop them now.
