Lazio goalkeeper Marco Ballotta has told his team-mates not to put too much importance on tonight’s crucial Champions League clash with Olympiakos.

Providing Werder Bremen fail to beat Real Madrid in the other game in Group D, the Biancocelesti will book their place in the knockout stages of the competition with victory at the Stadio Olimpico.

When Lazio met the Greeks in Athens in September, the two sides played out an error-ridden 1-1 draw, and Ballotta is urging that lessons be learned from that game.

"We placed too much importance on the first match and it affected our fluency," said the ‘keeper.

"This time we must be careful not to overstress the importance of the game, so we can play more naturally and not be distracted."

The 43-year-old Ballotta, who is the oldest ever participant in the Champions League, is wary of tonight’s opponents and has singled out former Newcastle United striker Lomana Lua Lua as a danger man.

"They have a lot of experience at this level and that is important in any field,” added Ballotta.

“It will not be easy, but I think desire and concentration are just as important, and we must be 100 per cent focused if we are to win.

"They have very good forward players, for example Lomana LuaLua, and they also have quality behind the strikers. So it will be important to play short and not to overdo things."
