In case you haven't seen it yet, McNair was out early in the first quarter with a hand injury and who replaces him? Kyle Boller.

I'm not afraid to say this but he did look pretty solid out there. Sure he threw and interception but he made plays as well. You can argue that it was against the Browns but the Browns looked better this time around. He seriously looked like he learned something from McNair this season. And looking forward at the offseason, he gets to make $7,970,000 next season, $1.6 million this year. That's pretty good since he's a backup. If he doesn't get resigned, he might get taken by another team but I doubt he might be the "QB to build around" since Baltimore was a bad example for him. But he might play the Joey Harrington role like in Miami.

Other players might start taking the backup role as well, center Mike Flynn and guard Keydrick Vincent may get a paycut to be replaced with younger players like Chris Chester and Jason Brown. And with our current offensive line, in the last four games, we have allowed 1 sack and that was just a few days ago against the Browns. Our linemen are finally getting it together and they seem to be doing a good job opening holes up the middle for Jamal Lewis. Believe it or not, Jonathan Ogden was thinking about retiring after last season but now he is having one of the best seasons this year. And maybe next year, he might get an expanded role. He is currently asking Brian Billick, who seems to remain head coach for the Ravens, to be the offensive coordinator. Ogden isn't shy to giving his input and seems to want the job over quarterbacks coach, Rick Neuheisel.

Oh yeah, about our offense. It seems that ever since Billick took the offensive coordinator role, the team is clearly better but not fun to watch like the defense. I mean, they mainly run a I-Formation with Ovie Mughelli at fullback. It's great to see him get the starting role and getting involved in the passing game but it's flat out boring. It's great for the running game since Jamal has a lead blocker and is hard for the defense to predict whether they will run or play action pass. Now that McNair has hurt his hand, the Ravens might play more shotgun formations so he can recieve the snap from a distance.

I want to say something about the SNF and MNF games. First off, the San Diego Chargers. I don't know what the Chiefs did to Rivers but they seem to have gotten into his head. He completed 8 of 27 passes and threw two interceptions. But that was against the Chiefs defense. Now just imagine for a minute, what if... What if it was the Ravens defense they were against. He would get trash talk from Bart Scott, Terrell Suggs, and the other Raven defenders. And add in a little beating he might get play after play, maybe the Ravens might get a shot at winning? He wanted to throw his helmet when he went to the sideline Sunday, but I wonder what he might do if the Ravens get in his head.

Yeah, Indianapolis beat the Bengals. The reward was the AFC North title, the "just desserts" (I don't know if I'm using it right but yeah) was the fact that the Ravens move down to the #3 seed. The Colts seem to have the easiest schedule left of the top three so they might get the first round bye. The Ravens best scenario to get a first round bye is to win both games and hope the Colts or Chargers lose one.

Looking ahead to next week's game, I don't think the Ravens will cruise through Pittsburgh. Though the Ravens are better on paper, the Steelers might be motivated to make a statement to the NFL. To prove they are the best team not in the playoffs by beating the Ravens. San Diego goes to Seattle where they lost to San Francisco and is holding a slim lead in the NFC West. I wouldn't say it's a must win game for them but it would be the best chance to rebound against the Chargers. Indianapolis and Houston, Carr got beat up by Brady & friends and might get another one from Manning & Co.

Finally! This is one of my last posts in the Ravens area for the rest of the season. Maybe during the postseason and offseason but I hope you guys enjoy reading my topics, if not, at least look through it. Until then, I have two forums championship games to win. I'm out!

I'm glad people are still ignoring the Pats. Even during the Super Bowl years people still ignored them like they were the Lions or something, lol.

Yeah, I can tell. Brady didn't make the pro bowl over Philip Rivers despite his recievers.
