http://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/18/sports/f...h+Xhus0eMKpgFPgThere was talk of this last off-season, so its no real surprise..According to Tiki, there's nothing that's going to change his mind about this.

He probably could play for another year or two, but it's not like he needs the money and if working on TV makes him happier then let him.Hopefully, the Giants realize that Brandon Jacobs is plenty capable of being their every-down back instead of still burying him on the depth chart.
Last year all he talked about is being a "youthful" old guy in reference to the little punishment as a runningback he took early on in his career, going on to say he can do a lot more with his body than a lot of other old backs. Would of thought he'd try and prove this with a couple more years but I guess not.

He is probably capable to be an every down back, but this is quickly becoming a two-back league, and I'm sure they will be interested in adding a lightning to his thunder. I wouldn't be surprised to see them nab a first round RB if one of the big ones fall, maybe Michael Bush..Never know after they took Kiwi in the first last year.

Yeah, I think he's shown enough to at least split carries, and without a doubt get all the short yardage/goal line touches.

Then draft a RB like Garrett Wolfe or Michael Hart to split carries with him.

Once Tiki does in fact retire, it's time for Eli to really start earning his paychecks IMO.Brandon Jacobs could be an everydown back but I'll miss the days where he only got 10 carries a game...becaues there's no way the guy can punish defenders like he does now if he's getting 25-30 touches a game. We'll be fine at RB as long as we spend a day 1 pick on a running back IMO. We really dont need much help at other positions going into next season...we need to start grooming replacements for O'Hara and Petitgout on the O-line..need to think about Amani Toomer hanging em' up soon...but that's really it on offense. On defense we need to think cornerback being that Sam Madison is nothing more than a temporary fix, otherwise we just need to re-sign Brandon Short and some fo the other depth guys that we have. On the D-line we're pretty good...another young defensive tackle wouldnt hurt. Basically what I'm saying is we could easily take a running back in the 1st or 2nd round next year and not even have that back be our starter.

I think a good number would be around 300 Carries (18.75/Gm) and then give a Garrett Wolfe 100+ Carries (9.375+/Gm). Now yes, that is alot of runs, but I think it would be beneficial to everybody, especially Eli as it takes a lot of pressure off of him.

So they can easily do 300 and 100.
