Barça Consider Xavi Sale, AS Report

FC Barcelona could be considering selling Xavi Hernández next summer in order to pave the way for a major move for Cesc Fàbregas, accord to AS.

The outlandish story from the Madrid-biased paper claims that the Blaugrana are unimpressed with the Spanish international's drop in form and they could off-load him.

According to the report, technical secretary Txiki Begiristain has been advocating selling the homegrown playmaker as he feels that he has lost some of his sparkle.

Club president Joan Laporta has always been angered by seeing Fàbregas leave the club and is intent on bringing him back.

AS claim that an agreement, signed by former vice-president Sandro Rosell, gives the Blaugrana first refusal on the Arsenal midfielder if he ever decides he wants to leave north London.

Xavi has been a regular in the Barça side for several seasons, but Begiristain is concerned that he is no longer the driving force he once was.

With Andrés Iniesta impressing in various positions, the Catalan outfit have a ready-made replacement, but want Fàbregas to come back to be the creator in their side.

The story goes completely against Begiristain's statement earlier this month that the club would be unwilling to spend millions on a player that opted to leave them.

Well Cesc. Obviously. he left there in the first place so why would he go back. he is happy in London and will stay there for years. Also he is tied up in n 8 year contract so they are going to have to pay Squillions to get him.

One thing that I´ve been noticing about this Barca, is that they are slowly becoming the next Madrid. They like to unsettle players on other teams more than ever, I dont think cesc will go right now or next season.

Real was different though, they got players at the end of their careers. Figo, Beckham, Ronaldo, R.Carlos, Raul, Ruud (still holding his own but he's a veteran).

Barca has lots of young talent on the team and bringing Cesc would only add to that.

Nah... not when Real have young players like Robinho, Robben, Sergio Ramos, Casillas, Sneijder... im sure Real is cooking something up under their sleave... they have loads of money to spend lol... im sure Fabregas would prefer Real over Barca if both squads try to acquire him since he was let go by barca already

Barca are approaching the 'galacticos' theme better than real, their star players are younger

Hmm sort of. They have star young Players e.g. Messi but most of the team is over 26. Arsenal are a team that thrive on Raw young talent

True about Real. They'll always compete for the top spot, they'll find ways to bring in new guys. I mean who wouldn't want to play for Real? Its a dream for most of the players. Plus they have unlimited amount of money to spend. lol

    So you're a big Real fan kobe23?

I doubt it happens since Cesc has been quoted to be very loyal to Wenger for building his career up at such a fast pace. If it happens, I wouldn't expect it for many, many years.
