http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/55410/20081113/barnes_sticking_up_for_nash/ Such a bullshit reason. Nash took a hard screen, cause he didn't see Tracy there. Barnes was pissed cause on the play before, he drove the lane, missed the layup, but thought he got fouled. If you saw the game you could see him throw his arms up to the ref. Then when Alston set the screen, you can see Barnes shove Alston, not run through it or anything. Fucking prick.
It was great to see Shaq supporting his teammates. Rockets are playing dirty though as you can see this is not the first time they've done this. (celtics in preseason for a hint)
Oh keep your grudge to yourself. I don't think the Rockets play dirty, if the Rockets D is considered dirty, then obviously tough defense isn't seen around the league anymore. I watched the entire game from beginning to end, and I saw more elbows and hard shoves by Barnes, Bell, and Nash then from anyone else on the court. Bell even hooked T-Mac on one occasion, but it wasn't called. I understand I don't sound credible as a Rockets fan, but watching that game is enough evidence for me.
What a fucking tool. There was nothing wrong with the screen that hurt Nash's shoulder, at all. It was perfectly legal. And quite frankly...he didn't run through the screen, he pushed through it and took an absolute cheap shot on Alston. I've always hated this douche and he really didn't help his cause. If his pompous ass doesn't get some type of fine/suspension for this, that will be absolute horseshit.
T-Mac is constantly looking to get in fights with the opposing players. Not sure if by having Artest in his team, now he's grown balls, or what his issue is, but he's no saint anymore. TMac is lucky Shaq didn't kick his ass.
So you snickered at that too yeah? I snickered at the T-Mac wanting to fight everyone thing as well....as if Ron Artest rubs off on him. Please CK, all year you've been wanting to pin everything on Ron Ron.
Not the most objective commentary in the video above, but the only link I could find on such short notice. :]
Barnes has quietly gone under the radar the last few years but he probably takes the most cheap shots in the league and goes out of his way to start shit. Probably annoying to the other teams but I didn't mind him doing that on the W's. Its nice having a tough guy in there who's gonna lay the lumber, defend the star players, keep the physicality level up, make guys think twice about driving inside, etc. Plus Barnes will actually beat people's asses. I loled when Rafer was running up to him and didn't even swing or anything. You could tell Barnes was hoping he would so that he could lay him out.
The bench I believe cause Brooks was in, Alston was in, Tracy, Yao and Scola were all in. Also whoever said Nash was separating everyone, how come he didn't go to his teammate, but rather straight at Rafer first?
Doesn't matter, this kind of speculation was all over Ron Artest for doing the same thing. I personally think Rafer and Matt are gonna get the longest suspensions. If T-Mac gets a day or two, Shaq might also just cause he shoved (although I think Shaq tried to diffuse the situation, which worked). Other than that, I think Rafer and Barnes get suspended, while T-Mac, Nash, and Shaq get fined. But who knows what commish will do.
Ok so of all the posters on this site who play basketball, none of you guys run through screens? Sometimes when I'm pissed I will act like I don't see someone about to set a screen on my and I will run straight through them. That's what Barnes did, it's part of the game.
it was hard to tell what nash was trying to do because as soon as he got to where the altercation was, he fell which led to him grabbing alston which led to tmac shoving nash to the floor which led to shaq shoving tmac and alston going after nash again.
There wasn't any screen set by Alston, he was trailing the play. Barnes just through a body check on Alston out of nowhere. They were speculating he did it to Alston, because of the screen TMac set on Nash earlier in the game as retaliation. What's ironic is it was Barnes fault Nash ran into a blind side pick because he didn't yell out "screen."
Nash jumped to conclusion IMO. He saw Alston go after Barnes, but didn't see what led to it. TMac took a cheapshot shoving Nash down, but I think Barbosa did the most damage to Nash yanking him away from the scrum. The Brazilian Blur was manhandling him. LOL.
