So it took less than a month for Baron to be out successive games. I know I shouldn't fault Baron for this injury to the ribs, but seriously, this does not help his reputation that he can't last a season...because he simply can't! I am thinking of taking Baron off my favorite players list because I just can't stand superstar gimps! No matter how well Monta and Beans are playing, we NEED Baron. Period. There's no way the young kids can keep this up at this pace for an entire season, let alone half a season, let alone a month. You can quote me on that.
I've taken shots to the ribs. It's painful. It takes like 4 weeks to heal. With broken bone, it takes a lot longer because you factor in bone healing time plus the time it takes to heal the muscle and bone bruise. On top of that, it starts hurting your back because the ribs are connected there and it restricts your running/shooting form motion because it hurts when you breathe hard and it hurts when you try to lift an arm and your rib cage goes up. Pant pant pant. Achilles problem is even worse and I've had that. I haven't suffered severe back injuries though like Baron like ruptured discs.
At the very least Davis is in shape now, so he can probably avoid injuring himself with pulls, strains, or having his organs slosh around when he runs. I've long been of the notion that while a player getting injured is upsetting, I can never criticize the guy, especially if they're willing to play injured as Baron has at times for us, and earlier with New Orleans.

You know I said this because I know Baron reads this forum and that's why he nearly got a triple double the other night

And not so much because Baron reads this forum. LOL. During crunch time, I hope Baron is more like Cassell, Billups, and Nash rather than a guy overdribbling trying to take on three people at once forcing his way inside. But I guess I would too if my jump shot is not the most reliable thing in the world and neither are my teammates from the same distance.
