Yes it's true, but it's a longshot. And the way the rumor was presented it seemed as more of a thought than an actual attempt to bring Davis to Philly. Again, it would be a long shot and just don't expect to see Davis in Philly.
philly would be an awful fit for both baron and ai. both of them require the ball a LOT to be effective, so the trade would just hold back both of them.

philly doesn't need another scorer, they got AI and Cwebb now. if the hornets trade davis, then this'd be a blessing for the hawks, they won't be the worst team in the league anymore. it's better if they just make a trade with the clippers, im sure they'd get something out of em.
