I like bars that have something to do in them, like arcade games or pool tables. The only club I'll go to is one my friend works at because I drink for free half the night.

I cannot stand dive bars. Just a lower class of people in there! :)

I kind of like uptight, stuck up places....everything except the hassle of getting in...but when I'm in, its cool.

In PDX, always seem to go to Aura and McFaddens...although I don't really like McFaddens all that much.

here in LA, I like the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica, Shade & Sashi in Manhattan Beach, and The Shore & Sharkeez in Hermosa.

Bars with pool tables and lots of women are awesome. They have a fair amount of those in Toronto.

Clubs, I hit up 19+ mostly and it's pretty fucking live.

I hate karaoke bars more than dive bars.

I'm in my mid-30s and am married with two kids. I am the sport bar demographic right now. I prefer the Hot Seat in Tualatin (as do a few Blazer players), but Players in Lake O is fun to go to with a group. One barkeep at the Hot Seat knows my name, as does the owner, but that's from years of going there and not frequency at this point.

The last club I went to was Pure in Vegas this summer. I felt old, even though many people were older than me in the club, and it was odd having women barely over 21 hitting on our group. What a change from 10 years ago in my personal club experiences.

Yeah, I like some sports bars, but the ones I like are more the upscale ones (the Parlor in Santa Monica for example). I think in Portland I'd enjoy more of the blazer bars though..here in LA, its annoyting to watch games.

oh yeah, I also HATE Irish bars..even on St. Paddys, I'd rather go to the fake bars that have hotter chicks and serve green beer and are just totally fake about the holiday.

I play pool for the social interaction. I met more than one girlfriend by being able to keep a pool table for a long stretch of a night out.

I meant a pool table at a popular bar, which was pretty much the college scene and a few places in my early 20s. I've never stepped foot in a pool hall in my life. Sorry for the confusion.

Dive bars rock . . . you get a true cross section of the community at the local dive bars . . . I find the people to be so much more real than the trendy bars downtown.

I'll always have a soft spot for Sharky's Redondo Beach. Whatever year 'Melo Anthony was in the NCAA Final, I was working in the area on a trip and went there to watch the final. It was packed when I got there with a friend, but the manager said we could sit in the "Laker party" section until their party arrived for the game (I imagine since we still had on professional clothes). Anyhow, the "Laker party" shows up, and it is Brian Shaw, Devean George, Pargo, and some of their buddies and ladies. The GM of Sharky's kicks us out, but as I'm walking down the stairs, I pass Shaw and tell him I'm from Portland and miss him playing there. Well, as my friend and I are standing in a corner trying to watch the game, 10 minutes later the GM comes up and says the "Mr. Shaw" would like to invite us to his party. So we go back in, do shots until closing with Shaw and George (Syracuse won the game, right?), and I get back to my hotel at about 2am. The funny thing is, the Lakers had a game the next night, and Shaw went off for his career high as a Laker.

I had some interesting discussions with Shaw about his days in Portland and the team, but I am sworn to secrecy about them.

That's cool. The closest I've ever come to that at a bar/club was trying to fight some guy that was on the Real World.
