"The Broncos claimed offensive lineman Kirk Barton off waivers Wednesday. Barton, like Broncos coach Josh McDaniels a native of the Canton, Ohio, area, was released Tuesday by the Detroit Lions.

Barton also has spent NFL time with the Bears, Dolphins, 49ers and Bengals. But he has played in just one game in his career — in 2008 with the Bears.

Barton had been working as a backup right tackle for the Lions before they released him.

The 6-foot-6, 300-pounder was a four-year starter at right tackle for Ohio State."
