That sucked. The guy we least could afford to get hurt got injured. It's going to be a tough road trip.
Next man up! ... but yeah, no Camby for an extended period of time is rough sledding for this team. My initial feeling is we'll see a moderate dose of Thomas in the starting lineup, but we'll probably see Aldridge log a lot of time at the five. Luckily Craig Smith isn't a complete scrub and should be able to give us some quality minutes at the 4 (hopefully it's not for too long).
Batum has to start. Not Thomas. Enough of this nonsense of pairing Nic with Crawful. He needs to be in a lineup where his PG doesn't freeze him out.
Camby going out last season actually sent Aldridge into beast mode. Could be a blessing in disguise for LA to play a lot at center. But mostly I agree, it's a huge blow. I hope Batum gets the start though and shows what he can do.
I think this is a fantastic idea ... if we do it long enough we might even be able to get into the draft lottery.
http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/i...sider_after_an_ankle_rolls_in_san_antoni.html I think Joel's done, but I'll be honest, I won't mind if they sign him one more time to see if he has something left.
There's nothing mystical about Camby getting hurt -- that's happened to him throughout his career -- but damn, what is it with this team and the 5 spot?
I don't think it hurts that much. There are only three true centers left in the NBA (Bynum, Howard, Hibbert) that we'd have to worry about size wise.
It's the rebounding and pick and roll defense drying up (such as it is) that worries me. I do like the LA (5), GW (4), Nic (3) front-court a little bit though.
