I think the Ducks may be better than the Beavs...

We are 7-3, they are 4-4... We almost beat #8 Mizzou, only losing 80-83. Our other two losses were a CLOSE one to SJS, and Duke blew us out (expected).

I honestly cant say I've seen more than 5 min of their BBall team this year. But with Kent at the helm the last few years the Beavers have been better. How much better have they looked with Altman running things?

At least our court is better (court, not arena). :)

Yes, the Ralph Miller cigarette burns in front of the bench is far better than those trees!

FYI, I was talking with some of the kids that go to my daughters school the other day and showed them a picture of the new floor at Oregon. To a man (boy) they all thought it was the coolest thing they had ever seen. 1 of them is actually a D-1 level recruit from here in the Houston area. So it's pretty in the eyes of those that matter

That's 5 more minutes than I've seen! I'm sure I'll get interested once conference play begins and after the BCS title game.

You can tell the team is far better coached. I think Altman is doing far better than Kent would be doing with these players. He has a top 10 recruiting class coming in next year as well.

It's top 20, not top 10. Still a good class either way

That's good to hear. Ernie's "stand around the perimeter and shoot 3s" approach only worked with a first-round NBA PG running the show (Rid and Aaron Brooks), and those teams won because Rid and Brooks both took games over by themselves.

Sounds like another offensive system I know in the state of Oregon.

I've watched them twice. Altman is a good coach, he's getting them to become a solid team when it comes to fundamentals. But, its obvious the talent just isn't there. Garrett Sim of Sunset who starts at PG, sucks. They have no size outside of Catron and he's undersized for his position as well. They need a lot of work.

Jabari Brown is desperately needed and should be fun to watch next year. Same with Bruce Barron who should start right off the bat at PG. The last time the Ducks had a PG that was over 6'0" was Ridnour. Kinda sad.

I've watched both teams once (so I'm not exactly an expert), but from what I can tell, they look fairly even. My early prediction is that they'll split the series.

I'm actually quite optimistic about the team. I don't expect much from them this year, but I think they have a bright future, especially with them recruiting the way they are. It feels to me like the Blazers a few years ago, except without all the inflated drama.
