I feel like hes another webster, outlaw, rudy, bayless. I know the kid is really young but he seems like one of those guys who will never reach his potential. A guy who will have great games but lots of mediocre ones in the middle. The problem with Batum is, his defense is a bit over rated and he doesn't have consistent offense. Im beginning to think that if a top player is offered for him... cho should grab it. Batum will never be more then a 3rd option at best. Thats the problem with these blazers teams, we always want guys to be something they arent. LA for example. Hes a 2nd option on most teams. Heres he's counted as the first option which he isn't. Batum is viewed as the teams 2nd best player now but i just dont buy that. His game goes up and down. I realize he's young and still has time but feel like it will end up being another guy we could have gotten great value for but waited toooooooo long. I just don't see much improvement from this year to last. I know the batum guys are gonNa start crying after reading this but he isn't getting better. I think if Denver does get Harris.... we should deal Batum for him. I am not on the Batum band wagon anymore.

    Sorry but its true.

A top player, sure. You move #3 players for "top" players. Devin Harris is not a top player. And with our injury history, and his, I'm not dealing Batum for him. I am open to dealing Batum, as well as anyone on the roster, for improvements and better fits. I'd take Devin Harris on the team. But not for Batum.

Saying "Sorry, but it's true" does not make ones opinion the truth.

I don't think he'll ever reach some of the expectations that (some) people built up for him, but I think he can still continue progressing toward being a really solid player.

Sorry, but it's true. Your opinion on that statement is true.

Wait-a-minute....doesn't that annul the assertion of the statement????

Really? 25/10 for the month of January sounds like #1 option to me. Those aren't Kevin Love "Pad my stats in blowouts" numbers either. Team went 8-6. I wish we could have seen Brandon from 2 years ago play with THIS version of LA. i don't buy that LA couldn't play like this with Brandon around either. LA has just flat out improved his game. He didn't used to be able to get low post position, but he finally saw what the weight room looks like and now he lives in the paint. He didn't used to have a left hand, now he does. He's a complete player now. It's not just that Brandon is out and LA finally has the chance to shine.

I'm hoping that Batum and Rudy get their shooting touch back in the 2nd half of the season. I'm sure some of the problem is they aren't getting as many wide open looks as they did with Brandon around, but their % is way down from where it should be. Batum was having a pretty good January before the knee bone bruise.

I was glad to see you bad mouthing Nic today. It pretty much guaranteed that Nic would have a good game tonight.

21 pts on 75% fg, 83% from the arc, 7 rbs, 1 blk tonight. Seems like a good time to give up on him. If you would trade him for Harris, I'll just be thankful you're not the GM.

LOL. I'm sure Rudy will just keep believing that his criticism of Batum pushed Nico to have a great game. In response, I have one word: collinearity.

Mixum, I realize you are not a Blazer fan. I realize you probably start your negative threads intentionally. In fact, I think you do so just for fun to see how people will react to you. I mean, you MUST, because nobody could believe the stuff you do unless the were making it up. Nobody.

But I'm going to humor you.

I'm going to assume you meant your post. For fun, anyway.

Let me start by saying that if you think Batum isn't a pretty good defender, you have proven beyond any shadow of a doubt you have no concept of the game whatsoever. Period. Forever and ever, amen.

As to the rest of your post, Batum isn't a perfect player. He's not the top 50 of all time- which is what you seem to demand of every player or they can't play at all. Why you adopt that stance is beyond me. Now, to be sure Batum has a ways to go. But he gets better bit by bit and given his age when he came to the NBA, the finished product will be plenty good enough. And, yes, there are things I'd like to see him do better in, but part of that is due to what Nate wants him to do on the floor. This, too, may come in time as he plays with different players or different coaches. But his athletic skill set is excellent. His basketball skill set gets better and better. It's a shame we can't carry 15 all stars at a time like you want, but he's plenty good enough. And will continue to be so.

Can he be traded? Sure. But only for the right player. And Harris is far from being that right player.

Batum is bothering me too. By playing a good game tonight, Mixum won't be able to come back to this thread and really lay into him; I was really looking forward to that.

Batum is bothering you? Just put him on ignore. A troll like Batum can only bother you if you let him.
