Nicolas Batum says yesterday he had dinner w/former #Blazers Greg Oden. Batum says he looks good & is planning a return to NBA next season.

Saw this and thought it was interesting.

I'm sure he plans on returning. Same way Brandon Roy planned on not having another knee injury.

I still think we should have given him a 5 year/$8-10m contract, tell him to take a year off and then see if we could get some use out of him. Not a real big investment for potentially a decent return if he can be used 14 mpg.

And then we wouldn't have any cap space this summer.... and we wouldn't have been able to sign Hickson last summer.

Watch him join the L*kers and play for a healthy decade. Fuck, it still stings. Oden should have been the final piece of a dynasty.

We're holding Jeffries and Freeland in case they're better than Oden? Other teams will soon bid. There's no time to waste.

I read that as motherfucking every time I see it now. I think it's actually more appropriate than microfracture.

As much as I am so bitter about that fiasco; I wish him the best. Hopefully he does find a place in the NBA; excluding the Lakers or Heat.

Centers are a dying breed. Hell they are not even on the All Star ballot anymore. Forget about them being the final piece of any puzzle. I would have drafted Oden #1, but clearly you can find serviceable big men who can take up space, foul, block an occasional shot and rebound. What you can't find are elite scorers abd great PG's. Look at the Lakers right now with D Howard and Kobe, and Pau, and Ron Ron......they look bad without a PG.

    hmm... he's in Indy too?

Nic barely spent a year with the guy and he's still in touch with him? That's awesome to hear. I really think he has some leadership skills that can be nurtured for our future with Dame. LaMarcus really is reclusive, huh? geez.
