I wonder what the record for being traded for the same guy is?

And on a side note I wonder how much say Monty has in this and if so what does that say about Bayless.

I thought players who were just traded couldn't be traded with other players?

They could make it into two deals.

It would have to be done with two separate deals.

    Jerryd for TE.
    Peja for Jack, Banks, Anderson.

Pretty easy loophole, because TOR has a trade exception.

That would please Chris Paul - he and Jack have been buddies for a while.

I've seen you guys were pretty high on Bayless but I've read from other places that he is just a crappier version of Jack. I like the trade for us considering Peja is expiring but how good is Bayless?

That's a strange deal for the Hornets. Doesn't really make them a lot better and they are giving up a nice trade asset in Peja's contract early on.

Damn, this would not bode well for my fantasy team. Jack would score and facilitate less on the Hornets.

bizarre trade.... bayless is a scorer. thats it. im sure he will have a few 20 point games but hes really nothing more then a poor sg living in a pg's body

on a side not... raptor fans will get a dose of "the bayless look" which is him brooding on the bench looking like the coach just said "id rather have sergio then you bayless"

Jack and Bayless are pretty different. Jack is more of a real point guard, just not a terribly good one. Bayless is a shooting guard in a point guard's body.

If Toronto is getting him to be an undersized foul magnet (at both ends) then he can a pretty effective "two" guard ... as long as he can dominate the ball. If you are expecting him to distribute, run a team or otherwise appear as a point guard you might not be real pleased.

I like the trade for both teams.

Peja is not getting much playing time in NO and Jack is a better fit for them. Saves them alittle bit of money this year, but have to pay Jack in the future.

Toronto gets cap room next year. They are going to have a difficult time making a player of Bayless, but they are not going anywhere for awhile anyway. Peja may like Toronto and they could use some veterans that embrace the city.

The NO pick is going to be crap.

As I've said before, Bayless will have a career track like Telfair.

I like this move since stops the Hornets from trading Peja's contract at the deadline for an impact player. I think Toronto will just let Peja's come off the books for the $$$ savings.

I LOVE this trade. It doesn't really make the Hornets significantly better this season and it takes away their biggest trade asset in Peja's expiring contract. If they settle for Jarrett Jack for PSEC it eliminates the possibility of actually landing a true impact player as the trade deadline approaches.

For example, it takes them out of the running for landing a player like Andre Iguodala. Iguodala would make the Hornets much better this season and for years to come. A starting backcourt of CP3 and Iggy would be great. Think how much better that would make them at both ends of the court than their current starting SG - Marco Belinelli. Paul makes Belinelli look like a legitimate NBA player. Think how Iguodala would thrive playing with Paul.

And, that's just one possibility. A $15.3 million expiring contract is a significant trade asset. I can't believe they've paid Peja all that money over the past 4+ season, gotten basically one mediocre season out of him and are now willing to give up his expiring contract for Jarrett Jack. But hey, I'm all for it.

As for Toronto, who cares? I mean really. Sure this gives them Peja's expiring contract that may help them rebuild sooner, but Bargnani and Calderon both having ridiculously huge contracts and they have no young talent to build around, it's not like they are going to be decent anytime soon.
