BCB was right about Rajon Rondo the whole time.

I got ripped on, laughed at for my support of Rondo. I dubbed him the best point guard in the draft. Everyone snickered at me like I was the class nerd wearing something wierd to school. Well now it seems that the Celtics are more impressed with Rondo than Telfair and the kid looks like a real player. All I can say is, I told you so.[IMG]

The games havnt even started yet, BCB. These arent even pre-season games. You cant judge a player in summer league games.

i'm going to have to agree completely. He will turn out to be a HELL of a player. I think Foye might be the best player at the pg position, but Rondo will be the better pg. He plays on both ends, he's an incredible athlete, and he really does have alot of pg skills. I love the guy now.

Guys seriously. He hasnt played a pre-season or NBA game. He is playing against 75% of players that wont even make it to the NBA. Of course, he is going to post good numbers. Even though he is playing well in summer league, I dont think you can judge if he is a steal or a bust until he plays in the NBA..

I agree with CB, most of these players in the summer league are working their asses off just to get invited to Training Camp. The competetion is very weak. Wait 'till the season starts, and THEN we'll see if you're right or not.

It's not like he's going to lose those skills when he plays tougher competition. And Rondo OWNED Foye in workouts, and people are praising Foye for his 30 point performances and whatnot.and his stats haven't been amazing, it's just how is has been playing and leading his team.

OK, Im just saying. Dont get too excited until he shows he can play in the NBA. Also, I think scoring will be an issue with him. He actually reminds me of Delonte West a bit..

I don't know how the hell you can compare the 2?..

Well I will start off by saying I am happy we ended up with Telfair AND Rondo (who Ainge said he would have taken at 7 anyway, believe it or not). But at the same time BCB, it's been 2 summer league games. Marcus Banks was a complete monster in summer league, and I remember Ainge and Jim O'Brien basically orgasming in interviews about him. He didn't turn out so well in Boston did he?Yes, I know Rondo is a different player than Marcus because he is a true PG and a playmaker. But both have shaky shots and both are shockingly impressive defenders. Either way, I can't wait to see how Rondo turns out. Mike Gorman (our play-by-play announcer who is very involved with the organization.. and has been to both SL games) said Rondo has impressed him more than Telfair so far.In my opinion, Doc Rivers is going to have a real tough time splitting up playing time with Delonte, Bassy, and Rondo (barring a trade).

The two are almost nothing alike.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CelticBalla32 @ Jul 11 2006, 01:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Well I will start off by saying I am happy we ended up with Telfair AND Rondo (who Ainge said he would have taken at 7 anyway, believe it or not). He's a relatively selfsih layer, it's a shame bc he has so much talent. I still love him, but he wasn't a true pg.

Rajon hasn't played an NBA game yet. Too early to say that he is exactly the player you thought he would be, IMO. However on that note, I think that he will be a good player, I just think that Summer League competition isn't a fair comparison to the NBA game level.

Wait, you are judging him from a summer league game and comparing him to Sabastian Telfair, a player who ahs done absolutely NOTHING in his career? If that's proving you right, then I don't know how we'd prove you wrong

I like your comparison BCB but you cant say that you were right quite yet. sure, the word on Rondo so far is that he is better than telfair but he hasnt proved anything in an NBA game yet. Although, I will agree with you that he will be a good NBA player.

Rondo has NO jumpshot at all and that is what Delonte was known for when he was coming in to the league. I dont see this comparison CB4

He's a natural SG with some PG skills, in which we have tried to form him into a true PG. He can play the point and I have no problem with it because he is a true basketball player, but he isn't a "true PG" like Rondo. The difference in these 2 players' games is huge, and I have no idea how he came up with this comparison whatsoever.

He didnt play PG in college that much at all considering Jameer was there so he made a great transition.
