Root for Texas, Oklahoma, and Bowling Green this weekend.

We are going to a BCS bowl not named Rose Bowl if the above teams win.

Also, who you got in Stanford vs. Arizona State? I think ASU is going to be rocking the house for hosting the Pac-12 championship game and their front seven is pretty decent.

But I think Gaffney is going to keep the ball out of Taylor Kelly's hands.

The fact that the Northern Illinois vs. Bowling Green outcome has any implication at all on the BCS Games is pretty telling. Such a jacked up system. Much as I despise that, I'm not sure we deserve to be in a BCS Game either. Not crazy about the idea of playing an angry 'Bama team in the Orange Bowl (as some have suggested) after watching the way our OL/DL have played recently. It could be a huge setback to the program if we get shellacked by a big/physical team. 5 straight BCS appearances would be nice, but I fear a possible blowout. A month ago, I didn't think there was a team in the country we couldn't play with. The Stanford loss was shocking, the 'Zona meltdown even more so. After watching the Beavs who average 2.8 YPC run (no offense, but they couldn't run the ball all year) all over us & needing a late score to beat them left me with the realization that, for whatever reason, we just aren't that good.

ASU vs Stanford is puzzling. Stanford just owned them at the farm. Were up 39-7 to start the 4th, so the 42-28 final looks closer than it was. And now ASU is a 3 point favorite? ASU is a funny team to me. They won shootouts (62-41 over USC), then won defensive struggles (20-19 over Utah), and most everything in between. But what's their identity? They don't run or throw the ball outstanding week in/out, but do both pretty well. Their defense looks good some weeks, not-so-good in others. I just don't trust them. Stanford is my pick in a closer, lower scoring game. 24-18.

So you're saying I should take ASU and set an over of 110 points? ;)

Nice. You may be right. It is College Football, so who really knows?

Hopefully we could get into a Fiesta or Sugar Bowl(Clemson getting the Orange bid against Bama). Auburn/Mizzou or OK-State, Texas, or Baylor are more managable opponents.

As a Beavs fan I guess I want the Ducks to make the Orange Bowl, we get a split of any BCS bowl money.

Oregon/Bama would be interesting; I don't think most duck fans realize how much talent some of those other top programs in the nation have. Yes Oregon has nice facilities and Phil but they don’t get the elite studs other top programs have. Since 2009 Bama has had 15 five star recruits and Oregon has had 3.

How many 5 star have USC, Texas, Michigan, Florida, & Oklahoma had since 2009? A heck of a lot more than Oregon has as well. Thank goodness it takes more than a bunch of 5 star blue chippers to build an elite program.

How hilarious would it be if Oregon ended up actually playing Alabama in the Orange Bowl. It would be fun.....give the guys a shot to see what they've got. They wanted Bama, if we beat them, I say fuck it, we're the national champions.

I love my Ducks, but the chances they play in a BCS game are pretty much nil.

I would love to go to the Sugar Bowl: An Auburn-Oregon rematch sounds appealing.

It's pretty well documented that of the teams that have been in the BCS Championship the past decade, Oregon has had by far the lowest average ranked recruiting classes. ESPN and everyone else has done that story, and believe it or not Duck fans read stories about their team and follow recruiting. Geez I can recall pretty much the entire 90s Oregon's low ranked classes somehow always producing a top 25 finish for the actual football team... overachieving isn't a new thing for UO. But thanks for stopping by to look down your nose to tell us stuff we already knew. Hope the Beavs get their 500K

Really? Oklahoma State losing today helps. This is getting a lot more interesting than I thought it would be. Nobody expected undefeated Fresno St to lose last week & NIU this week. So no small conference BCS Buster this year. Alabama is a lock for an "at large" bid. Then you throw Oregon, Clemson, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, SEC Title loser . . . I would think best case NOW for Oregon is 1) Baylor holds on to beat Texas. 2) Ohio State & Florida State both win, which they should 3) Stanford beats ASU, giving 1 of our losses more credibility. It seem all of the sudden that we're in the thick of it again.

Stanford 28 ASU 14 Halftime. Stanford totally dominating this game with the exception of 2 plays (two 50+ yard TDs by DJ Foster). Other than that, they've smothered ASUs offense. Weird game. Ducks could use a Stanford win to boost BCS hopes IMO. But all bets are off if MSU beats Ohio St. They are up 17-7 in 2nd quarter. If that doesn't change, MSU goes to the Rose Bowl & OSU will for sure get at large bid over Oregon.

Well it almost all went down the way we needed it to. But Ohio State blew it tonight. So MSU gets automatic and there's Ohio State will sure get at large. What seemed impossible a week ago almost happened. I guess it's Alamo Bowl after all.

We may get a bid. We are #10 in the polls.

    Fiesta: Baylor
    Sugar: Alabama
    Orange: Clemson

That leaves: Oregon, UCF, and tOSU to take the remaining 3 spots. The Fiesta Bowl has a good relationship with the Pac-12 and a shootout between Baylor and Oregon would be a draw. I think tOSU will have the Sugar Bowl against Alabama. And UCF takes the Orange bid.
