Whats wrong with this stat? Steve Smith 14 recs 169 yards, and other WRs 3 catches for 31 yards. Other panther recivers need to get open!!!

Thus, no time needed. The only bright spot about what we did to steve smith was keep him out of endzone

This defense is something special!
The Bears did a good job of containing Smith. Smith won't get you deep but he'll take a short one into a long one. Seemed like whenever he got the ball the Bears were there to make the tackle right away.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (porky88)</div><div class='quotemain'>Smith won't get you deep but he'll take a short one into a long one.</div> He's averaging almost 16 yards a catch this year. He must be beating some teams deep. I find it hard to believe that all of his yards come after the catch.
They don't all come after the catch. Smith is extremely fast and has some great moves to get by a defense. There were a few plays yesterday where he beat the corner but did not get thrown to.

Most of his catches are on screens and slants and he takes them too the house. Which would explain is big average as well.

Porky is making it sound like that Smith is getting his yards by Delhomme firing the ball to him right away, and making 8 shake and bakes. So I guess this basically makes him the Barry Sanders of WR's.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BearsFan1)</div><div class='quotemain'>He has just over 500 yards after the catch. That is pretty damn impressive.</div> exactly that's almost half of his total in receiving yards. He's more of a threat short than he is deep in my opinion.
that is a pretty impressive total, he makes lays that are supposed to go for eight turn into a 30 yard gain, heck he is a punt returner, he makes people miss!
