Ok so me and someone were talking on messenger and we were discussing being a fan of teams and my Team selection is all over the board.. and i was being told i should be a fan of 1 city and all it teams.. But i support the team not the shitty ass city.. I grew up in idaho so there is no pro teams just college!! So my question is is there something wrong with being a fan of different teams from different cities or do you agree with.. we will call him X and you have to be a fan of 1 city and all its franchises like me i am a fan of Chicago Bears Atlanta Braves Phoenix Suns Chicago Blackhawks Duke <-- b-ball only boise State <-- home Team
I don't see a problem with liking teams from all over the US. My favorite teams are: Tennessee Titans Ohio State Buckeyes - Basketball and football Atlanta Hawks San Fran Giants
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Titans_Buckeyes)</div><div class='quotemain'>I don't see a problem with liking teams from all over the US.</div> I agree. I see no reason to let where you reside determine who you like. My favorites; Dolphins, Atlanta Braves, Phoenix Suns (hoops was meant 2b played this way), Detroit Red Wings. Auburn & Utah (NCAA Football). Anybody but Duke and Stanford for college hoops.
New York Giants New York Rangers Chicago Bulls Mets/Yankees I dont really care that much for baseball I don't have college teams I just keep up with the latest is all.
I guess when you're from a Minor League State you don't have a choice. Being born and raised in Michigan I've always been a diehard fan of my home state teams. For me it's just like the Olympics ... USA baby! I have more respect for homers than for those who turn their backs on their home team.
NFL- Packers and Bengals NCAA(bball and Football)-Ohio State, Wisconsin, Xavier MLB(even though i hardly watch it)- Reds, Brewers
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Zackman)</div><div class='quotemain'>I have more respect for <u>homer</u>s than for those who turn their backs on their home team.</div> Why you little....! D'oh! p.s. Have you watched the Jazz? They're boring and then the team takes the court and it goes downhill from there.
NFL - Packers NBA - Bucks MLB - Brewers and Reds College Football - 1. Wisconsin 2. Miami 3. Texas College Basketball - 1. Wisconsin 2. UNC 3. UCONN
You can be a fan of many different teams for many different reasons. Some, like me, are fans of teams becauise of certain players. I will be a fan of The UT longhorns in bball because DJ Augustine went to the same highschool i did in New Orleans. I will be a fan of whatever team drafts Jamarcus. I am a Saints fan cause its home But i am also a Cowboys fan..... Oh and i am an LSU fan incase no one noticed..
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BJames1156)</div><div class='quotemain'>Oh and i am an LSU fan incase no one noticed..</div> Really? I had not noticed. I got love for whole SEC.... except the Crimson Tide.
I don't agree at all....I am from California (LA area) and have been a huge Dolphins fan since I started watching football at a very young age. Pops told me to pick a team and follow that team. I have been doing it ever since. What I think is funny are the want-a-be fans that become a fan as soon as the team wins a SB. There sure are a lot more Steelers fans since last year and I am sure there are a lot more Colts fans this year.

It was that epic game against the Chargers that catalyzed my switch from shall we call it a regional affiliation. Then, in the fall of 82, I recall seeing the U of Pittsburgh play & being mesmerized by the Panthers QB. The Draft the next spring sealed the deal. I agree about bandwagon hoppers. I have a friend who hopped back on the Rams bandwagon in 99 claiming they were his boyhood team. He was very selective until then & since 2002. A few weeks ago, I brought up the Rams, FA, & who his current favorite is? Referring to St L, he said once a fan always a fan. I have little respect for people who switch back and forth always rooting for the flavor of the month. Loyalty counts for something; doesn't it?
I've been a Dolphins fan since 1974-75 season. When my family move to Kentucky, my first best friend was a Dolphins' fan and he introduced me to the game. It didn't hurt that Bob Griese became the first QB in NFL History to wear glasses on the field a few years after I got my glasses. That's how I became a Dolphins fan even though I have never been to Miami. (I did sing with my college choir at Epcot Center, but that's the closest that I've ever been to Miami.) When it comes to college sports, I tend to root more regionally. I grew up just under an hour from Lexington, so I was a Wildcats fan early on. I can remember getting little league basketball trophies presented by Rick Roby and Jack "Goose" Givens. Somewhere, I even have the SI issue where UK won a National Championship and the cover was titled, "The Goose was Golden." For the past 10 years, I have lived in Louisville and I even shop at the Kroger across the street from Cardinal Stadium, so I have been rooting for the Cardinals as well. In cases where I have to pick between the two, I lean toward the Wildcats in basketball and the Cardinals in football these days. I haven't followed the NBA since Clyde Drexler retired. I used to follow the Trail Blazers when he played there and the Rockets when he got traded, but I've lost interest in the new generation of players. I really miss the original and only true Dream Teamers except for that college punk that was riding their coat tails.
I've been an Eagles, Phillies, 76ers, and Flyers fan for as long as I can remember. I have some secondary teams in the NFL like Carolina or Cincy, but I have my reasons. Dan Morgan grew up down the street from me before he moved to Miami, and I've always been a huge Palmer and Rudi fan. As for college, I'm mostly local too. Gotta love JoePa and Linbacker U, plus St. Joes and Nova are my top college hoops teams, but I've always favored Duke I guess since Nova and SJU tend not to make much of a splash in the tourney except in recent years. There's nothing wrong with liking any team in my eyes, as long as you didn't jump on the boat after they started winning. Sticking with a team is what truly shows who is your favorite, not just picking the flavor of the month.

Even sweeter was they were the rival & nemesis to the Jazz back then. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BW)</div><div class='quotemain'>There's nothing wrong with liking any team in my eyes, as long as you didn't jump on the boat after they started winning.
