Belichick not ready to pull a Rex Ryan to get Mankins back

Asked whether he would do what Jets coach Rex Ryan did and travel to Florida to help get star cornerback Darrelle Revis on the team, Patriots coach Bill Belichick said Monday he wasn't paying attention.

"Yeah, I'm not really familiar with all that," Belichick said. "I don't know what everybody else does. I'm just going to coach the team, do what's best for our team, that's what I'm going to do."

Belichick was asked this in light of the current situation of Logan Mankins, the Patriots starting left guard who is without a contract and did not report to training camp this summer. "I'm going to coach the players and we'll talk about the players that are here," Belichick said. "Right now, I'm getting ready for the Bengals with the players that are on our roster."

Belichick held his weekly Monday briefing with reporters and said all of his focus is on preparing for Cincinnati this Sunday at Gillette Stadium and not what the archrival Jets are doing.
