He is only a scorer and he wants more money than he deserves. The man only does on thing. he is asking for too much money with too many years.
I like him, but he+Harris would be too short of a back court. Really wouldn't fit the type of player Thorn gets or Frank likes.
i personally love ben gordon... i love his shot and form and consistency... but for that kind of money? ummm NOPE
He turned down $50 million over five years...that's $8 million to start. I doubt very very much he gets that from anyone, let alone the Nets. I think he winds up either back in Chicago or taking less money elsewhere.

You havent seen a big star go overseas yet. Childress, Krstic, Pargo, etc. are not as big as a 25-year-old with a near 20 ppg career record. Big players can still make more money here than there...besides the euro is dropping against the dollar. Memphis still has the money but I can't see them offering him more than what the Bulls did. The question is: is the Bulls offer still on the table? No one else has the money without a sign and trade. I could see him signing a short term, two year deal/third year option with another team, putting him into the 2010 pool.
S&T is clearly what Gordon's people are working on. You guys underestimate his value. He should be at PG, but that's another story. The guy has the 2nd most 20 point Q4s in the league behind Arenas since coming into the league. Won 6th man as a rookie (I think he's the first ever to do that), and I cannot count the 10+ point quarters (Q1,Q2,Q3, or Q4) that he's had. He's also got a terrific record at making last shots in quarters or games, especially game winning shots. He's a lights out shooter in the class of Ray Allen or Redd. The Bulls are just so stupid about using him, they run plays for him that drive him into double and triple teams and expect him to manufacture shots. They don't let him dunk (he obviously can). The guy is going to be amazing when he gets onto another team.
oh we know hes good and we know what he brings to the table... but for the nets franchise to put an offer on the table for the bulls to make an S&T work then still have harris and vc... it would make us weak defensively harris / dooling gordon / cdr / ager vc / najera / hayes yi / swat / anderson boone / lopez / swift
Gordon is NOT weak defensively. The only issue with him is when he has to guard a 6'6" guy. This is why you play him at PG, or at least let him guard PGs. In that lineup above, Harris would guard the opposing team's SG.
but with gordon in the lineup harris would have to play the 6'6" guard and carter would have to play a 6'9" SF sooo it would make us defensively weak as a team... i said that wrong... gordon isnt a weak defender... but he would make us as a team weaker
