With his 2 three pointers today, he broke Nick Van Exel's record for most three pointers in the first five years of a players career.
He's got to be pretty close. I've never seen a guy who was better despite being an offensive focal point.
http://www.basketball-reference.com...&c3val=&c4stat=&c4comp=gt&c4val=&order_by=fg3 Gordon's #3 percentage wise of the guys in the top 100 for the first five years....and has a lot more three pointes than both guys ahead of him. He is clearly the GOAT of early career three point shooting.
Mayor Daley is currently scouting locations for BG's statue. He's rumored to be considering tearing down the John Hancock Tower to make way for a park in BG's honor.
Who knows. If he stays with the Bulls for pretty much his entire career, I'd expect him to at least get his jersey retired by the Bulls. He already leads the Bulls in three point shots made, probably second in point scored, and maybe first in game winners (he's already #2 and is on pace to pass Jordan if he stays here for the duration of a 6 year contract). Maybe he gets in on being the #1 three point shooter of all time if he breaks what will probably be Ray Allen's record. But that probably wouldn't be enough. If he does that, while winning a championship with the Bulls, maybe, but still probably not. I think the place where Gordon would get elevated into Hall of Fame status is in Cleveland. He would get so many easy shots from Lebron that he would put up monster numbers. And I think a Lebron James/Ben Gordon duo would win many championships. Look at what Lebron's doing right now with Mo Williams as his second option! They're already the best team in the league. If they were to get Gordon on say the MLE, and make him their #2 option, they would be scary good.
If they ever retire his number, they'll sit suspend a bench from the rafters and drape his jersey over it.
Who is the GOAT of early career rebounding? Who's the GOAT of late career assist-to-turnover ratio? Take a minute to consider what you're talking about.
And then they will retire Kukoc's number at the same time, and make a sign that indicates "The starting #7" pointing to it.
