Earlier this season, Gordon set the record for most three pointers by a Bull in Bulls history.

Right now, he is approaching a bigger record. Gordon currently sits at 712 career three pointers, and is 39 three pointers away from breaking Nick Van Exel's record for most three pointers by a player in the first 5 years of their career.

This will pretty much cement Ben Gordon as the best young long range shooter in NBA history. Not just because of the volume he's made, but also the efficiency. Right now Ben Gordon is sitting a 41.6% three point%. The other players in the top 10? Nick Van Exel - 36.4%, Kyle Korver - 40.6%, Ray Allen - 40%, Gilbert Arenas - 36.4%, Wesley Person - 40.9%, Paul Pierce - 36.8%, Jason Terry - 36.7%, Kirk Hinrich - 37.7%, and Louie Dampier - 35.4%.

In fact, the only players to do better than Gordon in three point efficiency are Hubert Davis, at 42.9%, who sank 333 three pointers, good for 91st on the total made list, and Mark Price at 41.8%, who made 358 three pointers, good enough for 82nd on the total made list. Hubert Davis has less than half the three pointers Gordon made, and Price will join him in that regard in ~1-2 Bulls games.

Gordon needs 1.26 a game to break the record. He's averaging 2.3 on the season, so presumably he will break the record.

Rudy Fernandez could make a run and end up in the top 10 in the next 5 years
