http://www.globeandmail.com/servlet/story/...BNStory/Sports/ (ripped from another basketball site) Most refreshingly humble part of the interview: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Despite his success, there's one thing he won't do ? ask for a new contract. Wallace has two-plus seasons left on his $30-million US, six-year deal. He intends to honour it ? without a peep ? even if it doesn't equal his value to the Pistons. ?I never imagined I'd make this kind of money, so I'm just thankful,? he said. </div> how many players in all of professional sports say that?
That's a great article, as much as I liked him before I just like him even more reading that. He's an amazing story, how he overcame offensive struggles and not being drafted and is starting in his second straight All Star Game. He's awesome, how humble he is and how much he has done to improve this team and get fans excited about the Pistons again, even in the midst of the "HockeyTown" era. The Pistons are very fortunate to have such a humble superstar. A player like that is very rare.
All the of the fans love Ben Wallace. Everybody respects him as a player and his store is one of triumph. It is uncommon to have a player that loves the game and wants to keep playing. He improves his team and doesn't try to get a big contract. Great player. Stay in Detroit, Ben!
His store? You mean I can buy my beans and cornbread from him, too? ;D I like Big Ben. The fact that he is honest and humble is definitely a plus for him, and with his play, there's no way they won't offer him a contract extension.
Rasheed stories. 5 cents. Ben Wallace stores. $5. More Wallace stories, less Rasheed stories. Priceless.

Ben Wallace is truley one of a kind...that article was great he deserves all the credit and stardom....There is only one thing I want to say about that artcile....now I don't live in the Michigan area so I could be wrong...but I belive Big Ben is more popular than Steve Yzerman!
Big Ben looks like a nice guy, you can tell just by the he portrays himself on the basketball court. I was watching NBA inside stuff last season, and they gave him about 10 minutes to talk about his hobby, he makes and collects radio controlled racing cars (the little ones), he invites kids over and his neighbor's children to play with him and stuff. He's like a 14 year old kid trapped in the body of an overgrown man. I really admire Big Ben, and i hope he stays in Detroit, players like him shouldn't get traded.

The Red Wings dominate Detroit sports, as they should. I like the article but I have been hearing more and more that some of this success has brought forth some arrogance. I hope it is not all true but you hear it several times, it starts to become true all by itself. Regardless, he is still my favorite player on the Piston's.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ravenous:</div><div class="quote_post"> I belive Big Ben is more popular than Steve Yzerman!</div> Blasphemy! Even I don't like Big Ben better than Stevie Y, no matter how much of a class act he is!
