Right now the Warriors bench is pretty decent, but where is the scoring going to come from? The best scorers from the bench are all very inconsistant; Cliff, Fisher, and Pietrus. The Warriors really need to get some diamond in the rough like Boykins and Cardinal the last two years, or they will be in trouble. I don't think you can rely on the starting lineup to put up big points everynight, and with an inconsistant bench, this could be a scarey year. Are there any free agents available that can shoot or at least score? The Warriors don't have Cardinal or Nick Van Exel and I am guessing Cheaney isn't coming back; all of whom were very big in the Warriors success last year with their scoring at crucial times. We still have Cliff who was very big several times last season. But that's about it from the bench. Trading Dampier and Dunleavy for Marion and Jacobsen would be the best way to improve this problem along with getting a very good player in Marion. Jacobsen is a very good scorer, and a scorer that we could really need. Speedy/Fisher/Dan Dickau JRich/Pietrus Marion/Jacobsen Murphy/Cliff/Biedrins Foyle/Davis/Eschmeyer But let's say that deal doesn't happen because the Clips match QRich's contract or that the Suns just don't like that deal. Are there anyother good scorers available for the Warriors to pick up for a cheap price? Or are there going to be any other ways to get one of those scorers? I know there is the possibility of trading Dampier for one, but with the contract Damp will get, the contracts coming back from those players will also probably be quite large, something you don't really want, from a backup scorer.
I'd give up Dunleavy for Marion any day of the week if it means sending Damp to another team in our conference.
