His abilty to run the point and hit the open three has been huge when Parker needs rest.
he is a great pick for san antonio. he played very well in december, but he has luck that he plays in western conference where isn't so much great rookies as in the east P.S. sorry for my english
Udrih is playing some major minutes for the Spurs so far, and in the Western Conference where there isn't as many high-caliber rookies, he should be a candidate for the award every month. The Spurs are really doing a great job of scouring for foreign talent: Tony Parker, Emanuel Ginobili, Udrih, and Luis Scola is on the way.

The West has not rookies lol, Devin Harris won it last time with pretty unimpresive numbers. The West has Harris, Udrih and Collison while the East has Okafor, Howard, Deng, Gordon, Iguodala, Bonner, Jefferson, Nocioni.... At least the West rookies can get some accolades to their names.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">The West has no rookies </div>Who are they going to put in the Rookie Game?
They are not playing East vs West like in the AllStarGame. They play Rookies vs Sophomores (second year players).
This tells me two things: The East has all the rookies, which has already been said, and Collison will win this honour at least once before the season ends. Well done to Beno though, from what I've seen he's a great back-up point and has delivered for the Spurs when he is handed court time.
I expected Shaun Livingston to win quite a few of the awards, before he went down with the injury. He may still turn out to be the best among the current western conf rookies in a few years.
Shaun Livingston would've dominated this award if he wasn't injured, but the East had most of the top lottery teams, so they got all the good players.
