We seem to have one (or several) of these threads every season, so why not now (since there's nothing going on). Now that our roster appears to be set, let's argue over which 5-man lineups would be best for various situations.

CAVEAT: Must use AT LEAST one reserve in your lineup.

    For instance--Best crunch-time lineup: Williams/Lillard/Matthews/Batum/Aldridge.

    C'mon--who wants to play?

Punishing physical line-up: Lillard, Matthews, T. Rob (Yes at SF), Aldridge and Lopez

Small Ball (stretch 4): Lillard, Mo or CJ, Matthews, Batum, Aldridge

If LMA gets his but into the low post, then surrounding him with shooters during crunch time will be awesome - especially if everyone is rested.

Isn't Watson more physical than Lillard? Or are we expecting that to change based on what we heard from his "select team" appearance?

This lineup would be "Two Good":
    CJ/Matthews/Barton/Crabbe/Batum

    edit: a "2-guard" lineup?

Earl is more physical; but I think we need Lillard to create for others.

Best Crunch Time Lineup against small teams (half the league):

    Lillard, Aldridge

AND, 3 of these players who were stroking it the best that night:

Wes, Mo, Batum, Wright (and maybe even CJ, but probably not)

The coaches have to be just giddy right now.

Pretty much this. 4 3 point shooters and LMA in the middle. Defenses are going to be crying in frustration.

I haven't been too impressed with Batum as a stretch 4 before, he seems to play better against PG than PF. Is Wright any better?

Maybe for that 4th 3pt shooter we put in MyLo? Gosh that'll be odd.

Well I do think its pretty nice everyone in our first or second unit can shoot the three except Lopez and TRob. A few years ago we had lineups with Camby/Gerald/Dre on the court and the offense would have major spacing issues.

The "we're down by 20 so let's just gun" lineup:

    Lillard, CJ, Wesley, Batum, Wright

This would be an interesting lineup and it should be something to consider for short stints. Lillard-Batum-Claver-Aldridge-Lopez.... The bigs could be toyed with but I don't think Claver is the odd man out as some people think he is.

Deadly 3pt lineup: Any combo of our top 10 players that doesn't include both Lopez & TRob

I think we could lead the NBA in 3 pointers this year.

Thats just being silly without a 4 or 5! I would put Lenoard in for someone, he lead the team in 3pt % last year.

Now this is silly. Barton is NOT a better defender than Batum

    Best Defensive Lineup:

    Watson, Matthews, Batum, Aldridge, Lopez

I don't really want to see trob and Lopez on the court together for extended minutes. Plus this team needs to play O too. Aldridge is also a better team defender.
