To be honest I got bored and decided to share with you what I think is the best formation ever. The 3-5-2, but not the shit way most managers use it, the real attacking one, I'll also put down the team that would best suit it aswell:
Henry | Rooney Ronaldo -------------------- | ------------------ Ronaldinho Riquelme | Fabregas Makelele Toure | Cannavaro | Terry Cech

[*]GK: Cech - Obvious choice, best keeper in the world. [*]DC: Cannavaro - thrilling world cup, secure, mobile, all round fine defender [*]DC: Toure - lightning quick, amazing tackler, good leap [*]DC: Terry - Commanding, amazing in the air. [*]DMC: Makelele-There to clean up, and best in the world at this job. Would be used to defend from side to side to cover weakness in formation on flanks. [*]MC: Fabregas & Riquelme - The two midfield central's would be used to dictate the game, pull the strings, supply the attacking wingers and strikers with the perfect pass. The most important players on the pitch. Fabregas has the ability to dictate the game, and to make the passes, and also tackle. Riquelme is basically the same, also a set piece specialist. The thought of these two in the same team gets me drooling. [*]ML: Ronaldo - lightning quick, gets bags full of goals and assists(which i look for in my wingers), how could I not have him in the team, even if he is a bit of a cheat. [*]MR: Ronaldinho - Quick, unbelievable vision, gets goals, and plenty of assists. great player. [*]FC: Rooney & Henry - Don't really know if this would work as they both tend to drop off a bit but I think henry is not doing this so much any more. Would have Rooney dropping off, using his creativity and vision to play killer balls into the pace of henry. [/list]
I doubt there is a best formation ever its just they way the team adapts to playing in that formation.. 3-5-2 worked for Celtic during Martin O'Neill's era but now we play better with a 4-4-2 under Gordon Strachan also different players by the way.
