It should have been 7 or 8 to 1 without quick standing on his head before his mistake. Amazing that the team is actually using its speed instead of worrying about blocking shots all freakin game.

yup, though only watched the 1st period this team is a lot more fun to watch. The offense flows a lot better when players don't haves to get up off the ice and skate 200ft every time.

Get off your fucking horse 31. Here we are talking about one game...a game that we scored a whopping three goals. .one a gift...this coming off a pathetic opening night and a horrible preseason. To get all excited over one win is insane. You brought up torts I didn't. Who has the fucking obession now?

Insanity. The team did a great job forechecking.....threw Kings off their speed game.
Offense not so much. Cashed in on Kings' mistakes. Offense was opportunistic.

BTW, I still have not seen that 3rd goal. Only Quick saw it go in.

Yes Al, it's just one game but everyone except you is seeing the difference a more open system makes and how the team can transition better from D to O.

I think this team needs a little more offensive talent up front. Pyatt for example gets in good position constantly but cannot finish.

Agree we need more offensive talent, undeniably, but at least this more offensive minded system will put players in a position to score more, so even if they are stone hands at least some are more likely to go in.

I want to like Boyle, but the guy just isn't very good. In the 1st he had that opportunity where he was driving to the net to Quick's left and i thought it was going to be a clear offensive chance, then i saw it was Boyle and realized it probably wasn't going to be much.

true Messiah, that's what i saw, guys Pyatt, Boyle, Pouliot and Zucc have to finish. I know Pouliot is new but hes showing flashes of Brian Boyle syndrome

They played a very good road game last night and finally got some bounces. Hank made some nice saves when he needed to.
PP still looks atrocious. I don't know why this coaching stuff puts Brian Boyle on the first PP unit and refuses to play John Moore on the pp.

hopefully they can further progress in the system. There no reason Pouliot cant be a 15-20 goal guy and Pyatt cant be an 10- 15 goal guy

Just checked Pyatt's stats and cannot believe the guy once scored 20+. When you look at the way he's played in NY it's hard to believe he's put up 10+gls so many years.

So far I am not a big fan of Pouliot even though he's played ok. He seems to get a lot of scoring chances but cant finish. What else is new, a guy comes to New York and forgets how to finish. Once Hags comes back, Pouliot should be relegated to the third line.

Pyatt is what it is. He should be on the fourth line.

perhaps you missed my comment on the first game thread where i said they were moving more quickly in the neutral zone on their PP. But I guess you only read what you want to read.

Bottom line guys is they are moving and passing the puck much better than in previous years and finally using the friggin middle of the ice to break out. The defense is solid. Eventually given the ammount of chances their getting now that they haven't in years the puck will start going in. I figured it would take the first month of the season till the players really start to get comfortable in AV's system so I'm happy with what I saw last night.
