Does anyone have any suggestions? A friend of mine is making a list for a book. I personally suggested Darren Bent at the 2006 world cup, but got shouted down. REALLY badly.

    Any ideas?

Not sure, but I thought Robbie Earl was fantastic for Wimbeldon, but I don't think he was ever capped for England so decided to play for jamaica instead?

unfortunately Matt Le Tissier managed to get in half a game against Italy before he was dumped based on a poor TEAM performance, otherwise he would top the list of non-appearers.

Although Zola played for Italy 35 times and scored 9 goals, he could so easily been THE next Maradonna, if he had a regular slot for Italy.

[IMG]to Italy for not picking him.

Julian Dicks for West Ham. "The Terminator" was undoubtably one of the best left backs to grace us with his Penalty's, free kicks and fantastic long range pin point passing, England wouldn't select him because of his temperament.

Steve Bruce is a good call too and also Ryan Giggs would have filled the trouble Left midfield position, which is fantastically taken up now by Joe Cole.

England are mad. Le Tissier was one of the greatest talents we produced, he could have played for France or any of the home nations, but he choose us and they threw him away.

Le Tissier and Steve Bruces were two excellent players and big misses for the national team...
