I thought it would be a good idea to rank every position 1 at a time. I truly believe you have to have about 7 positions hnow to make that fair though. Certain teams with certain coaching formations require various formations from players. I believe oe must divide the og position in half, i.e. pure PG verses scoring PG. Now I'll Rank the pure PG's, if you're favorite PG isn't on here thing about whether they''d be classified as a scoring point before posting to argue. 1. Steve Nash 2. Jason Kidd It's hard to continue after that, so many teams thrive without a real pass-first pg these days, and lots of good ones have never started, I'm willing to throw in Jameer Nelson and Chris Duhon if I have to, Maybe Sam Cassel. This is much harder than I initially thought
This is probably the first year that i would say that Nash (or anyone) was better than Kidd in a long time. I'll try not to be effected by homerism for my list. 1. Nash 2. Kidd 3. B. Davis 4. B. Knight After that its a toss up, no one is clearly better than anyone else.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting drunkenbarden:</div><div class="quote_post">Steve Nash best pure PG in the 2000's</div> steve nash had 1 mvp season and hes the best pure pg of the 2000s? yea right. the best pure pg of the 2000's is jason kidd. my pick is JASON KIDD!
Baron Davis is a pure PG? He's a big time ball hog, who can't even shoto 39%, he's a great player, great talent, and debatable top 5 PG............lol but the guy isn't a pure PG. Kidd (is a superior defend to Nash, as good or better offensive player) Nash Andre Miller Earl Watson Stephon Marbury Maurice Williams Carlos Arroyo Jason Williams Antonio Daniels Rafer Alston my top ten list
Kidd Nash Knight Nash had only one great season while Kidd had many. You cant judge Nash better because one year he played better.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NbaBaller:</div><div class="quote_post">Kidd Nash Knight Nash had only one great season while Kidd had many. I don't know about everybody else, but I know Eric Snow has been solid these past few years with the 76ers not with the Cavs though. When in Philly Snow played great defense and did a solid job creating offense.
What about Andre Miller? I remember a couple seasons back when he was playing in Cleveland he was doing really well as the focalpoint as a team. I remember he had like two games in a row with 20+ assists, just shows what he's capable of. Also, I think Kirk Hinrich is one of the best pure PGs as well as Tony Parker.

I think he'll develop into a winning guard. Like Kidd, but able to hit the three consistently. Same with Parker, he's lightning with the ball and a good penetrator, he could do better as far as assists though. TJ Ford anyone?

What!?? He is a big time ball hog! And Baron isn't on that list and yet Marbury is?! That is pure bias on you part. Steph might get a lot of assists, but that is because he dominates the ball, Baron passes the ball a lot and he might shoot a lot but for the good of the team.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Kidd (is a superior defend to Nash, as good or better offensive player) Nash Andre Miller Earl Watson Stephon Marbury Maurice Williams Carlos Arroyo Jason Williams Antonio Daniels Rafer Alston </div> Your post starts off saying Baron Davis is not a pure PG, then we have Stephon Marbury at #4? I'm a little confused here? Also Antonio Daniels? He's a great A/T ratio guy, but he's like Alvin Williams in that aspect, he takes care of the ball, but is still a combo guard by all means. Then Carlos Arroyo? Nice player, has some passing skill, but he's been more of a scorer than passer and hasn't had on season with impressive passing numbers, even though he played in the Utah system. He's also an attrocious defender. Lastly, Rafer Alston? I have nothing to say about that lol 1) Jason Kidd 2) Steve Nash 3) Andre Miller 4) TJ Ford 5) Brevin Knight 6) Earl Watson 7) Mo Williams 8) Eric Snow [on Cleveland he doesn't do much though] 9) Chris Duhon 10) Shaun Livingston A little skeptical about what we're ranking here, the best players who are pure PG's, or the best pure PG's.
Pass First: 1)Jason Kidd 2)Steve Nash 3)Brevin Knight Scoring PG's: 1)Allen Iverson 2)Steve Francis 3)Stephon Marbury
