Re: Best rivalry in the 00's? ^Yep.Mavs/Spurs has become a great rivalry, even though this is the first time the Mavs have beaten them. It was a great matchup, just about everytime they met.I don't think Spur/Pistons was a rivalry...they met once for a title, and the Spurs beat them, and then I believe Pistons swept them this season.
Re: Best rivalry in the 00's? It was more of a friendly rivalry, but Spurs/Lakers. Also Spurs/Mavs, and Kings/Lakers. They had a great series against them in 02. And in the beginning of the year, the beef started with Rick Fox and Doug Christie in the preseason. The entire year carried on to 03 and 04 untill it ended in 05 and didnt regenerate in 06.
Re: Best rivalry in the 00's? It's gotta be Lakers vs. Kings, that rivalry was about as heated as it gets. It wasn't one of those "friendly" rivalries we see nowadays, they really hated eachother's guts. The whole cowbell thing, the "queens", fights in the preseason, I mean, cmon. The only arguement against this one is that the Kings never actually beat the Lakers.

With Ron Artest it's slowly coming back. Second of all, they said of the 00's, and that rivalry all took place in the 00's. But yeah, we did forget about the Pacers/Pistons.

Others: Lakers VS KingsPacers VS PistonsBoth rivalries are dead now though. ^A new rivalry that is becoming intense is Bulls VS Wizards. It all started from the fight in preseason last year, then during the regular season, and espeically in the playoffs.
Re: Best rivalry in the 00's? I dont see how not EVERYONE has said pistons/pacers. When i think of the world rivalry in the NBA, that is the first thing that comes to my mind. Its one of those things where even though Detroit is clearly better than the Pacers, the Pacers could beat them any given day because of the hatred and energy that they get from playing each other.
